Faulkner had a scary moment at the start of the deescent, but managed to save it. The others are pushing it as well. The gap is just over 2 minutes now. Chapman is a minute behind Faulkner.

García has been dropped in the descent. I'm not sure what happened.
Van Vleuten, ELB, Brand, Cavalli, Persico, Labous, Koster, Fisher-Black and Chabbey are in the group.

FdJ are leading the chase in the second group, though they shouldn't be too worried about the riders ahead. Kopecky is surprisingly in that group, too.

Faulkner will need the chase group to look at each other to survive the final climb.

Brand is keeping the pace high, so it could prove difficult for her. Question is how tired she is after the first climb.

Erić lead out an attack from AVV, and she, García and Cavalli were instantly alone.
Jelena Erić is another one having an under the radar really strong season. It's just not the kind that will be picked up on CQ or PCS. She's like Movistar's Audrey Cordon-Ragot, she can just be plugged in as a helper in any role and do well at it, from leading out Norsgaard or Sierra for a sprint, to unleashing van Vleuten or Patiño on a climb. As the GP Ciudad de Eibar showed, she can definitely climb, finishing with Santestebán and Mavi García in a race finishing at Arrate, and the stage of the Ruta del Sol she won had the 7,4km @ 7,5% Gaucín climb in the middle and a puncheur climb just 5km from the line.

If she was male, Unzué would have locked her up to a ten year deal, she's precisely the kind of rider he loves.

Yeah Erić is a great teammate. She and Biannic are crucial to their success.

Cavalli is putting up a great fight.

An excellent effort from Faulkner to survive so well - She's shown she can diesel climb and BEX developed AVV's climbing abilities - Think,, BEX are on a winner with Faulkner.

Crash for by Van Vleuten!

But she's back on her bike and still holding the lead. Cavalli isn't taking any risks either.

Koppenburg crashed out and has been taken to hospital where she's being x-rayed. She isn't the most lucky rider in the peloton, that's for sure.

Faulkner and Realini are the leading duo. They have 2:40 to a group with Chapman, Koster and Magnaldi. The peloton is at 3:20. Faulkner is now only 5 points behind Chabbey in the ifght for green. 66 km to go.

Some suffering going on in the HOS group at the moment. Cavalli is trimming this down big time.

Edit: Marta dropped, Brodie Chapman dropping back and doing her job for FDJ. Dani Rowe absolutely cooing with delight about a piece of basic domestique work as Brodie pulls Cavalli for a hundred metres and gives her a bottle as her leader passes.
