Good finish by Anancona. The other 2 riders drafted behind him so long that I didn't think he was going to be able to win this sprint against them.

Movistar finally got the tactics correct. Nice to see. Also congrats to Anacona on a stage win and the leaders jersey.

Must also say nice ride to Montoya to be in the break for so long and still hang on to finish 3rd.

To the initial comments, yes the climb wasn't as hard, and it was for diesel engine type of riders. So it looked on paper like easy for Ala, but at the end you need a good team as well. And here Medellin and Movistar had the numbers.

Anacona really peaked for this one, didnt he? Now watch him fade into obscurity like he always does.

Won't happen soon. Not with this form and with Colombia 2.1 around the corner. Quintana wants that one, but not sure if he'll have the legs. The competition will be fierce, too.

Remco still impressive in pulling the peloton. I wonder if altitude might have been a factor for the QS riders at this stage of the season (i.e., early). In any event, great job by Moviestar.

I think the crosswinds, the lack of gradient, and the missing teammates made for poor conditions for DQS. Too easy to breakaway there’s no way for QS defend against the attacks let alone do it with a 19 year old.

Can see Remco as a ridiculously powerful train puller at the TDF in the future, but he needs to work on an intensive plyometric program to build up his acceleration and explosiveness.

Quintana looked strong though, responding with ease

When you are left with a rider in his first race for 15 months and a nineteen year old in his first professional race, then you are pushing *** uphill.

How does this race get 19 pages and some races in the middle of the year don’t even get threads. South American hard ons here
