I dont think we can expect anything from quintana either in his first race after 2 months off...

He is the favourite and normallly he will win very clear. Other way he is not favourite for le Tour.

This is not the level of other races, he won San Luis by a bif difference in his first race of the year, and there the local riders are very strong.

Quintana dont need races to be in a grand shape, he won Burgos last year in the same situation.

Contador must be here just to have quality Km of training, no more, He use to be competitive and there are not big rivals, so he could be on the podium, but he must take it easy.

 I don't think I understand. So he won San Luis against the local riders on his first race, and that means he will win here with ease against much stronger competition?

I expect Quintana to win as well, but it will obviously depend on what kind of form he is bringing. He could very well hold (a lot) back, just like I expect Contador to.

Yes, there was a little change for Movistar.

About television, a contract was signed with Eurosport for 2 hours live /stage from 2015 to 2020 :)

now that's great news!

For sure is not stronger competition.

But now Quintana is just before the Tour, his big objetive, so he is in good shape.

When Quintana didnt performe well, becouse he was 2 month without competition?

I dont want to talk about some things, but Chichi told to a friend of mine that the Tour de France is slower than Tachira and numbers in the climb talk well about.. so dont see the categoy sometimes to evaluate the level of a competition.

i put different expamples, take Burgos if you prefer.

IMo even if quintana dont want to be at his limit in Rout du Sud, he will be the stronger in the climbs, but if there are people as Hesjedal.. he can be at a good level as well.

Is the end of stage 1 a steep ramp for classic/gc guys or for sprinters?

I expect Contador/Quintana battle at stage 3, but Contador to drop because he doesn't wanna to in red. I hope he doesn't go all out, but if we know Contador then he'll want to win..

He seriously need to let this win go. It's not a WT race, he just have to do a Nibali here and drop as soon as the legs hurt.

I see the route, just one mountain stage of 4, hard, but not specially hard, no medium mountain, not a big startlist (even in the best case), a good race to train.

For Contador to be in Bales among top ten is similar to have a necessary hard training for the Tour, and in a race is better than alone.

Taxus4a your theories are really refreshing. It's like squeezing lemons in your eyes, also really refreshing.

800m at 5%, it is not very hard but still enough to avoid a mass sprint.

To complete the start-list :

I could be not polite as well, but I am here to argue, answer my question:

When did Quintana performed bad becouse he was without conmpetition for 2 months?

I remember you he was second of the Tour coming from Colombia without any previous race.

It is the same for Contador, He used to be podium in Dauphine after 2 month without races with stronger rivals... Tour is close, why is that strange?

If there is in Route du sud a big name in a good shape going for victory, people as Hesjedal ,...or even Contador (he dont need to go to his limit now) well, I could admit Quintana is not going to win, but with peop'le as Arroyo or Gerdeman he dont need even to be at his best or give his best to win.

if he is now at 60%, he is not going to be at 100 % in le Tour, that is obvious.

In this case I dont have theories, there are facts, in this case and in the speed of the races in South America,

if you want to argue and tell me why I am wrong, ok, but you didnt say anything but BS.

I see now Formolo will be there.. yes, a good day by him in the only mountain stage and he can win. Quintana it is not going to take risk in the descent of Bales anyway.

A nice race to look forward to ! I remember in 2012 when Quintana popped out of nowhere there was some kind of radio stream, no, or maybe a fixed camera on the line, hehe...

Giving an interview to Manuel Martinez from l'Equipe.fr, Alberto Contador has confirmed its participation to the Route du Sud ! And Nairo Quintana is also expected. Great news, we will have a great fight in the Pyrenees.

Won't be no fighting for Contador
