How do we know it's raining ? Has TV started broadcasting ?

Someone said so in this thread, maybe that person is there in Grenoble or knows someone who is?

If Martin finishes 5 secs off the pace, I'd say something had to influence that.

Plus, the times got worse over the last 5 minutes too.

Martens did it even better than Ruijgh
But Martens is a decent prologue rider, unlike Ruijgh.

Has Martin ever won a prologue?

Than again, is Ruijgh even decent at something besides finishing 21th in a GC anonymously?

ruigh is great steerer. same for amador., he should do good time as well despite teh rain. they also both like the rain. most favorites and especially martin does not. quintana amaze me because 5 km is too short for him normally and he hates the rain, with his 52 kg body

You'd think the ticker would make mention of the rain if there were any.

I reckon Martin just did a bad ride. He didn't mention rain in his quote.

He's also on the front page saying his Tour goal is winning a stage. When did he turn into Thor Hushovd?

Are you expecting him to win the whole ****ing thing?

My God you guys are delusional.

Martin:

"I didn’t make any specific preparation for this prologue", the German told letour.fr. "I took a rest after the Tour of Belgium. If I stay in the top ten today, it’s fine, but in any case, I’m not prepared for such a short distance right now. I’m more focused on Thursday’s long time trial."

Martin not a big surprise after his time off (yeah I know he's won since but a 5km effort is a bit different) and was only 4 secs faster than Ruijgh who went off a few mins before. If it is raining I don't see a big effect on times yet

Excatly.

What do you expect from EBH ?

Every ride in that Tour team will get MASSIVE bonus in money if Wiggins wins the Tour. They'd be working for him to win it. And that means sacrafice his own chances.

Still EBH definitely has 1 or 2 stages he can win and should target them.

EBH also said there are 21 stages, and 21 opportunities for him.

And the notion that he won't be going for the sprints at the Dauphine is frankly insane.
