I reckon Martin just did a bad ride. He didn't mention rain in his quote.
hatcher said:EBH also said there are 21 stages, and 21 opportunities for him.
And the notion that he won't be going for the sprints at the Dauphine is frankly insane.

"I want to win a stage" is such a lame ambition. It's what Hushovd says to the press every single year, and that's fine, but EBH could be so much better than Hushovd. Do you think Peter Sagan just wants to win a stage? No, I bet he wants to win plenty, and he wants to attack the race, because he's a winner.El Pistolero said:Are you expecting him to win the whole ****ing thing?
My God you guys are delusional.

Wiggins isn't punchy at all either... yet he's very good in prologues. It's more about cornering technique etc. where Martin doesn't excel.Bavarianrider said:Well that's a bit disapointing.
Tony simply isn't punchy enough for those short efforts.

Guess it must have stopped "raining" and been a heatwave for the last 10 minutes

Not denying that. They both have pretty much the same talent, but Hushovd has always lacked ambition. He wins a stage every year because that's always his number one goal. At least it was until CA died, he has improved a lot since then.El Pistolero said:Thor Hushovd is a much better cyclist than EBH. Come back when EBH wins a stage in the Tour for 10 straight editions.
