No disrespect to Demare -- but it would have been nice to see Gene win. I'm glad that we now have black riders (both European and African) riding on top teams, and I would love to see one of them pick up a win in an important stage race.

Not sure this race should be on Eurosport with prime coverage when races such as TDS and Slovenia with better fields aren't covered as well as they could be.

Only 3 world tour teams, and FDJ and AG2R are the worst of WT level.

Without Quintana at the race it wouldn't be on TV.

Some are making conclusions about Quintana's form but the level is disappointing. It's a shame he doesn't go to the proper races such as TDS and Dauphine.

FDJ and AG2R are assuredly not the worst of WT level. FDJ won Milano Sanremo, remember? As well as having Pinot. AG2R have Vuillermoz, Peraud, Pozzo and of course Bardet. You know Dimension Data, IAM, Giant, Cannondale and Lotto-Soudal? They all have less WT points than both. Jumbo, Lampre, Astana and Trek are all behind FDJ too. So please, stop making baseless claims.

WT points doesn't determine how good of a team they are.
AG2R are 3rd last in WT rankings anyway and haven't won a SINGLE RACE at Wt level this season. Peraud and Vueillermoz, Pozzo and Bardet have done SOOO much season right? IMO they are the worst in the world tour.
FDJ's MSR only happened due to that crash and some suspicious recovery after a crash. Apart from MSR and Pinot's few wins FDJ have done nothing this season.
Lotto jumbo finished 4th in the Giro and help the pink jersey for a bit, not sure if u follow cycling.
Astana also won that thing called the Giro.
Trek won just a few classics this season no biggy and many stages or races.
Lampre was it me or did they win 3 stages at the giro and hold the pink jersey?

So LOL yes they bottom of the pile.

Were FDJ and AG2R even at the Giro? They didn't affect the race at all.

Interesting you don't mention Dimension Data or IAM, and Jumbo have just literally done TTs and Kruijswijk. Astana have had a mediocre year, but their specialty is GTs and they still have a couple to go. Trek's season is based around classics and it didn't go that well. They are better but haven't been amazing this year. FDJ have had a very good year, and are a good team. Lampre are the one of the most dysfunctional team in the peloton, and Ulissi excluding have had a very poor year. Giant without Dumoulin and Degenkolb are a very mediocre team, and Lotto Soudal have probably been a bit disappointed too, except Greipel. Cannondale are Cannondale. IAM are the worst team, by far. Dimension Data are also not a great team, and Cavendish isn't going to win many stages at the Tour.

So LOL no they are not the bottom of the pile

Good job Antoine, enjoyable race! Hopefully the field is a bit stronger, but this time of year is funky anyway. Thanks for the hard work and interaction though!
