Tour de France 2016 winner, right there.
Calm down... he won a tt in route du sud... there is no competition here but he made progresses in tt

I called it. Froome has a chance, but Nairo is such a beast. God, I can't wait now.

Yeah, he was already very good in Romandie and Pais Vasco TT. He improved very much. Winning a flatish TT is a great performance for him (even though the competition is cr*p). Overall he might as well be the best of the GC guys in the Tour, but the question is if he is going to actually win it (i think he was already the best last year, yet Froome won...)

Nairito has been putting in some great TTs for a while now this year.

At this point he's probably got a similar ability in TTs to Valverde and only marginally worse than Nibali.

The question is whether this improvement in TTing has come at the cost of climbing ability

No way Nairo is the best TTist of the GC guys - Froome and Contador both easily better. 22 seconds on Demare over 12km and barely beating the ageing Chavanel isn't *amazing*

His tt in romandie was more impressive than this tt in route du sud. Last year contador smoked everyone (bar quintana) in a climb and in le tour he was awful

Lol.

Contador rode Giro in '15. Besides, what climb? Isn't this an ITT? Nonsense.

I meant climbing+recovery+TT (overall means every aspect of GC racing)

What was this ITT's profile like? Was it pancake-flat or was it hilly? Unfortunately, I can't see the pictures at work as they're blocked by the firewall.

You are dumb... i'm making a point that top riders win no matter what is their shape...

The point was that winning or dominating in this race doesn't mean much because that field is crap.

Start and finish were on the moto-racing circuit. The middle part had two little hills at around 5% and downhills.

... by pointing to a season where Contador also did one of the hardest Giros while Quintana has trained 6 weeks in Colombia? Again, doesn't make much sense.

I think you still don't get the point.
Last year, Contador crushed everyone except Quintana, yet he was really bad at the TdF. Ergo, dominating at this race doesn't mean much. The majority of the teams here are French (Pro)Conti teams. It is hard to compare a performance here to a performance at the Dauphiné/Suisse.

Yes but beating Chavanel on a course like this is a sign that Nairo is in very good shape

Nairo is ready. Bring on Froome.

Froome would have put in Quintana at least half a miute today. Chavanel was a good rider and a very good trialist, but not today.

Quintana is as favourite as Froome this year with this route in le Tour, but reading some people it is like if today Quintana rode at Froome level in this almost flat ITT.

He did the same than here:
