Surely there’s a mistake in the classification, because Landa finished same time as Aranburu and Valverde.

Didn't expect Evenepoel to still finish in the top 10. Not his type of finish, and after that effort 20k from the finish, that's actually very encouraging.
Pretty in line with some previous results, recovery from such effort seems to be his biggest asset. Positioning at the bottom here also helped.

I'm a little bit over the "Evenepoel can't punch" thing.

There is a difference between "Evenepoel can't punch" and him finishing alongside guys who have a proven trackrecord on such finishes, after having gone deep 20 minutes before.

Looks like Valverde at 8", most of the other favorites at 10" and everyone else at least 16" back

Favorites in 10" group:
Sosa
Carapaz
Chaves
Gaudu
Evenepoel
Bennett
Landa

Missed where Soler finished. He was in the crosswinds And he looked pretty gassed heading into the final kms. Mas needs to work on his positioning when lining up for group sprints. He was on Valverde’s wheel with 1 km left and dropped to the back then climbed back. I’ve noticed him do that numerous times. He’s good at being in the right position during the stage and avoiding crashes but seems to drift back and forth too much.

Oscar Rodríguez finished in the group with Mas at 16” along with Sep Kuss and Dunbar.

Landa was first in that 10" group. Where's the Landa hype train?

**** *: Ivan Sosa
****: Mikel Landa, Richard Carapaz
***: Remco Evenepoel, David Gaudu, Alejandro Valverde
**: Simon Yates, George Bennett, Jack Haig, Camilo Ardila
*: Fabio Aru, Enric Mas, Rafal Majka, Esteban Chaves, Ruben Fernandez

My view is that South Americans should do better given they've spent the last god knows how many weeks at altitude, whereas most of the rest were stuck at relative sea level. Some (Landa, Valverde, Ardila e.g.) should also be further in their schedule given the Tour and l'Avenir are mere weeks away.
Ardila lost nearly 12 minutes, what happened? Was he involved in the crash? Or just got blown out the back in the echelons? Or anticipating an attack later this week?

So now, what about Bora? Are they all peaking too early or will they fly through the remnants of the season? Well, they already started this at Paris-Nice.
I think, they had the first training camp together already in June in Ötztal. Other teams had their training camps later, so this could be a factor...
