Wow. Did Mini Phinney crash or something?

Also, so much for my Tim Kennaugh hype...

Dowsett clearly on good form, though.

Nice. The only guy in the Dutch selection I'd never heard of gets 2nd in the stage.

There were quite a few hills in the last 50 kms, and Phinney isn't the best climber, but I'm sure there's some other reason for him being the last finisher.

wow, these are only hills and the anglo teams are already exposed big time.

If the top 2 on GC after the stage weren't anglo you might have a point.

usa was very poor.

Slagter and keizer losing 21 seconds. Not so bad.
Kelderman did well. I'm happy, and I echo the thoughts of youngest about lindeman. nice :p

shall we make a better that after tomorrow neither of them are in top 10??

Matthews stands most chance although I don't think he will make in the real mountains against this level of competition

What's your beef with Americans trying to make their way on the cycling scene? Talansky actually is quite a good climber.

they're not Colombian. And thus must suck.

Talansky was 10th in Aosta yes. Pretty good I know that but I don't see too many other great climbing talents in USA. Climbing/racing in the american cycling circuit is quite different than Europe. Even Phinney has already crashed 3x since his radioshack debut in Europe.

Ryo does seem to have some sort of Anglo Boys Can't Climb fetish.

Some can or could like Robert Millar, Daniel Martin but I see very few anglo climbers in a more pure sense. I don't see Rogers as a climber for instance or Leipheimer.

Yeah, he's crashed quite a few times this season (also in the TT he lost to Jetse Bol somewhere in spring). He's quite tall, maybe this doesn't help his bike handling skills.

edit: Phinney tweets that Talansky flatted.
