Yeah okay, there are of course other things you could name too.

But it's the biggest waste of a career we have seen.

I agree with you on that to an extent.

At the same time we dont know if he would have been as successful at another team. We can only speculate on that. It is still something to have been an integral part of a team that managed to win that many GTs and dominated for a few years. Maybe he was happy in that role and getting paid for it, while getting his own chances here and there too.

He has had a really great career and he has kind of been lucky not to suffer any major injuries. He did get over-trained and had some struggles in the past couple of years, thats why I think this win was so great in a way.

Great to see Kwiato win as he's wasted the best years of his life at Ineos. I can see why Ineos has struggled to achieve a level of success at the Classics - They got away with the win today BUT they ride the Classics like they are climbing a mountain at the TDF - It was crazy that they were drilling the race at one stage with five strong riders - The better tactics are too send of of these strong riders away and make the peleton chase - And then 'rinse and repeat'.

Once they were two, Cosnefroy did 80%+ of the work. I've not seen Kwiato work a single time more than 10 sec, while Cosnefroy was accelerating after each turn.
Maybe the camera was on them only when Cosnefroy was working, but I doubt it. He did the same thing again and again to Sagan which was dumb enough to cooperate (E3, MSR, ...)
I think that's called racing smart isn't it? Besides which, Kwia has Pidcock behind. Who did Cosnefroy have?

You may not like it, but why be a foolish gutsy rider that does more than your fair share of the work only to keep getting beaten.

It's hardly Gerrans level of wheel sucking today. I have no problem with how the race played out today. And I'm certainly no Ineos fan.

My only disappointment today was for Cosnefroy to be lead up the garden path like that at the end by the organisers. That was horrible to see.

Kiwato had a teammate behind who is a race favourite. So why should he pull

I guess he has been allowed to ride the classics for himself most years, too. And it does get a bit too academic a discussion if one begins to say that he must have had to hold something back because he was supposed to peak for the Tour.

I do think he has missed out on some good fall seasons, though, and I just generally don't like seeing such good riders domestiqueing, when they could have been entertaining instead. The same goes for Van Aert (but his one-day palmares has evidently not been compromised due to his Tour duties - nor has his Tour stage win palmares, amazingly).

Because we all love foolish and gutsy riding in bike races.

Masnada would've won this. He never loses a sprint-à-deux.
Fausto has been very quiet in social media recently. I hope he is OK. He is a really kind hearted guy. Usually he shares a lot his trainings and what he is doing, but nothing for a long time. I assume the plan is to go to Romandie and the Giro but I don't know how he is after sadly abandoned Catalunya.

He is such a strong rider but he can be a little fragile sometimes . That's what makes him such a character that we can get behind.

Vai Fausto!

The better tactics?

Who just won the race? Lol.
Becasue said teammate isn't likely to win a sprint.
Er....Brabantse Pijl last year anyone? ;)

You are correct and I do not like it indeed. Kwiato certainly is and always was a smart rider. He proved it again today.
