I think he said himself he always has his best form in his first races, which is why he didn't race before omloop.

It was the same in 2021, flying in the opening classics.

It was his goal to be in form for the Omloop/Samyn/Strade, but then he crashed hard in the Omloop. His goals were never RVV, AGR and PR. Also people overestimate him a bit.

His only goal was Dwars door Vlaanderen and he was very good there. So the approach was actually pretty good.

since his attack, he managed to get shown three times having a natural break just in front of the TV moto, though, which is fairly impressive.
