Luis Felipe Laverde (Café de Colombia) wins the stage. He defeated on the final steep climb in Tunja (where Victor Hugo Pena won last year), he drove away from his companion Jose Alarcon, the other two were still caught by the bunch.

Fabio Duarte won the sprint behind Alarcon of the favorites for GC leader Sevilla ...

Etapa 6:

2. José Alarcón a 2
3. Fabio Duarte (Colombia es Pasión) a 8
4. Oscar Sevilla (Indeportes Antioquia) m.t.
5. Félix Cárdenas (GW Shimano) m.t.

General:
1. Oscar Sevilla (Indeportes Antioquia)

Bloody Rujano is getting wedched by BabyFace the old fashioned way is losing time every day. It could even have been worse today cause Nino coming in 4th was right on the money for the bonis, but still again 9 seconds diff.:

Today

07.08 | stage 7 | Tunja–Duitama-Circuito Mundialista '95-Pantano de Vargas (136.8 k)

phpa7kiyPEtapa-7-puenteboy-pantavarg.jpg

So that's 140k at 3000m or 3k altitude ... it looks easy but is not ... you won't see that at a TdF !!!

Today's ride is al over Boyacens territory of Tunja in the direction of Duitama and then arriving near Paipa, where the finishline is drawn at the Pantano de Vargas monument. An important monument to the country, to commemorate the independence of Colombia from Spain (almost 200 years ago).

At 18 k of the finish the riders must climb the alto Duitama, de El Cogollo, known for the world championship in 1995. A bit of a transformation stage today, maybe something for a long flight ... but that was thought last year to when Rujani gained a lot of time back in stage ? on Duarte.

what is seen as flat in colombia is seen in europe as hills or even mountains.
