Well to be fair, humans only get worse at learning as they get older. If he hasn't picked up tactics in the first 10,000 hours, the next 10,000 aren't looking very good either. And the more success you have, the more you're marked, i.e. the game only gets harder, never easier. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any cyclists who learned tactics over time, maybe Remco but really he still doesn't rely on nous, just legs. Same with Alaphilipe who wasted many of his early years being completely boneheaded (and then later on, lazy), as he still never learned tactics but gaining the slightest modicum of patience was enough to land him some mega wins.Ofc he has alot to learn hes 21 thats why I dont get the forced hate, hes mostly tactically super bad but again hes 21 and part of the learning process one would think, he might also end up beeing stupid and never learn time will tell.
