Ok, but the finish is the same, right?

Yeah, seems like they're just cutting out the descend in the beginning of the stage. Probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference anyway.

In the bizarre world of the UCI, one of the breakaway is under a ban for punching another rider 2 months ago, but the ban doesn't start till next week.

Sleet, freezing conditions, icy roads today -
maybe Yorkshire would have been
a wiser choice.

Küng in the 4 man break. at ~5 mins

There's a reason why most of the big who ride the Giro for gc don't show up (ok, this year they also had rather bad weather in Trentino/Tirol), Zakarin is the only really big name who's riding this race and the Giro.

Don't think it'll be brought back. Trek really playing high stakes poker
They will have to chase at some point though. Armee only two minutes behind in GC.

Jungels (6th last year and Maglia Bianca) too.

And TJ this year. Can't imagine this is a super good preparation, especially not for a rider such as TJ who is pretty fragile....

Sorry, I forgot about him. TJ hasn't shown a lot in the last few years, so I don't really see him as a "big name" when it comes to the gc riders.
