Sabido won with a great time.

Nice to see Dekker riding again. Let's hope it turns out to be a great Volta after all the downsizes

Lookin' fat.

I saw him in Wateringen and he certainly was bigger compared to the other riders, but he wasn't really fat. He's more muscle as well, but he obviously needs to lose more kgs yeh :)

Great day by LA Antarte. Hugo Sabido wins, Bruno Silva is the best young and Hernâni Brôco is the best GC contender. And now they are leading the team classification, of course.

if looking at fashion mags causes a bad body image/eating disorder just think of how extreme a position is taken in the pro cycling circles.

dekker is 6'2" and i'd be amazed if he was more than 75 kilos. fat for a cyclist. skinny by normal standards.

not having a go just sayin'.

the boy could lose a few though :D

Just before returning Dekker was 72kg for 1m88
At his best, he was 69kg in top form

So he surely isn't fat.

This is great for LA-Antarte, no doubt, and for me as they're my favourites, but I am kind of worried that they may not want to be expending the energy early on with the jersey, that they might need to defend Broco later on.

Really great time by Sabido though, sets things up nicely with Cardoso having time to make up already. Roll on Monte Assunção!

Well hopefully he steers clear of the Bradley Wiggins diet atleast.

the portuguese dominating!!! i hope to see that for the entire race which should be hard taking into account the lack of good/on form foreign names

Yes, it's true. The best for them will be lose the yellow jersey for a breakaway or for Sérgio Ribeiro. Ribeiro is 10s behind Sabido, is a contender for next two stages but not a GC rival.

Watched it (nearly all) last night. Quite a technical 2.2kms. Were it ever to rain in Portugal, in August, it would be a bit hairy.
One for the chancer with good handling skills, rather than an engine.
Nevertheless, Hugo S managed to win by some margin, given the time splits behind him.
