The official results have A. Schleck as #4.

Ok... maybe I was wording it a little bit wrong. Where I wrote The official CN top 10 perhaps would I should have written was simply The official top 10.
The question is; did they make a mistake?

Definitely Vino. He, Samu and Anton all started too far away. Samu & Vino around 15th-20th position, Anton even further...

Btw, was it Hesjedal who started the hostilities? Or LeMevel?

Purito must be annoyed by Gilbert taking the wins away from him....

He has gotten the Kolobnev's curse!!

Surprised at Contador. Rodriguez is very good at almost winning things.

tbh this might be good for contador. it can mean that he didn't peak to early for the giro

or perhaps keeping things in a discrete manner, so he's "less" of a target before the Giro

I had a feeling Gilbert was going to win this even if maybe everyone thought it wasn't a little steep for him. It was a combination of how good of form he is in, plus I remember V. de Jaen in the Vuelta he was just a second or two behind the winner of the stage (I believe it was J-Rod) despite him being in time form for the Vuelta and Gilbert was building form for the Worlds and Fall Classics. Still the difference between Gilbert and the rest today was just so hard to fathom.

I was impressed by Vino, I can't recall him finishing 4th or higher Fleche (Without looking I remember a 5th vaguely).

I don't think the riders will necessarily ride against Gilbert for Liege, but I think a few more riders with try to attack further out, like on the Fachon climb (Schleck 09), or somewhere in between (Vino/Kolobnev 10).

There's still Luik :p Rodriguez can win there.
Contador predicted that Gilbert would win this by the way.

the way anton is going . . . . it looks like he would have given gilbert a run for his money if he was well placed at the bottum of the climb. ofc thats only a if

Yep. I think he surprised himself, he said he wasn't so sure of his form coming to the Ardennes (although he did well in Castilla y Leon). Shame really, because he could've been 1st or second. Also strange that the orange guys didn't cooperate at all, although cooperation isn't really that beneficial when you are going 20% uphill.

Bit of a sidenote, but there's been a few weird camera shots on the Muur the last few years.

Missed Evans coming to the front last year.
And we got to see Gesink and various others struggling home while Gilbert rode away out of shot.

In Amstel we missed Gilbert distancing Purito as well.
Yeah, NOS and broadcasting cycling is always a recipe for failure. Those fugly graphics they use are also unbearable to watch.

Only saw the results so far.
Very suprising. Gilbert is superb.

Gesink looks weak, form not there then... dissapointing spring for him after a great start in the warm-up.
Tirreno and Basque Tour haven't lied, he is getting worse uphill

Also missed Contador

Yeah but conti is on antibiotics + has difficulties because of allergy, I didn't expect him in this weather. Neither did I expect Phille to take it, but dam is he strong! Very very impressive, freewheeling the last 75 m's on the Mur de Huy, very impressive indeed

Isn't Fleche & Amstel so boring compared to P-R, RVV and LBL? I mean, one can just watch the last 10 to 15min and doesn't miss anything...

Last year AGR was more interesting than RVV and PR though.

FW could use a course change imo.

What about Gilbert? Of course the Mur has proven to be a little too steep for him... but it's not entirely impossible for him to win here, and given his current form he should at least be able to make the top 5 (he was 6th last year on his first true attempt).

Although I also claimed (in the same post) Rodriguez would win, it's nice to see I was the only one who fancied Gilbert's chances :D
