Big day for Efapel. Ricardo Mestre gained time, de la Parte didn't lose too much, Sérgio Sousa got to show his climbing legs without being a lower slope domestique for once and because of the tamish nature of the climb in the stage Joni Brandão was able to be up there at the top as well. They even got rid of the responsibility of the camisola amarela, though César leading will be a concern as he will be tough to unseat with riders like Ribeiro, Durán, Vilela and Délio Fernández in his service. And because they're Efapel, they're liable to do something like get three men in the break and then set 5 of the other 6 to chase them with Filipe Cardoso as their protected man in a mountain stage or something equally counterintuitive.

Brandão showing some good climbing. Wondering how he will perform in the big mountains. Certainly a better GC placing than in the previous years is in the cards.
