Watch a lot of interviews in a lot of sports. This is about as brutally honest as you see an athlete get and kudos to Wout for taking the blame. We can't fully contemplate how it is to be in his shoes. When he talks about how important it was for him to win today, it tells you how much pressure he feels to deliver, and his body wasn't capable. Very human moment.
I thought I was watching him digest a big slice of humble pie. Surely the days of being an all-out leader in the classics are over?

Wout's face looks like he lost some weight. His cheeks look even more sunken than Roglic. Maybe lost some top end power to gain climbing endurance?

Looks like powless's shadow is still dogging him there.

A couple of my riding buddies, rode with his wife and mom last year, at his Fondo in Auburn. They said they were some of the nicest people they've ever met. I've never ridden with him when he's in town, but everyone I know who has, says he is also a truly nice guy.
Auburn, WA? I live pretty close to that area, never heard of the Fondo. Met him once at Metier in Seattle when he was still riding for Axeon-HB.

Auburn CA. His family is in Roseville, which is about 10 miles away. Lachlan Morton lives in Auburn now. We've also got some really talented women like Amity Rockwell and Nicole Steinmetz around as well. It's a great place to ride, because it's hilly, into mountains if you want. Lots of it is dirt as well. And it's beautiful!
