Bewildering tactics be BEX who are still waiting for their first win of the year - They had 5 riders in the reduced peleton which was being soft paced by SD Worx. Surely you get one of their riders to attack with Garcia and Music.

Because she isn't a climber.
FdJ should have had Grace Brown in that break instead of Le Net, then it could have been very exciting.
She is better than a large part of the peloton though. And not many pure climbers are left in the race.

...so I switch on and the first thing I hear is an extensive discussion of Anna Henderson, it's almost like they're trying to make up for Marty not being there.

Évita Muzic witha great finale. Patiño completely cooked herself and lost a lot of time in the last kilometre...
But less than half what Mavi García lost. That's really surprising, I assume she went too hard trying to chase the GC in the stretch between Demi's attack and the steepest section, that final 3km look to have eaten up a few of those who attacked too soon.

Also Jose and Dani thought Doebel-Hickok was Ewers - understandable given Ewers' form but KDH is a strong, strong climber in her own right and has somewhat more experience too.

Edit: Évita gets 2nd on GC on countback ahead of Vollering from the looks of things, great counter-move by the Frenchwoman.

Looks like those of us - pretty much all of us, I think - who had Vollering as a GC rider did get some points after all.

I picked the wrong BEX rider in the prediction game, but that was always a worry.

Great performances from Van Anrooij and Persico on a climb like this. I didn't think Muzic had recovered enough to be able to ride so well here after being dropped early in Itzulia.

It's alright, a few of us decided to take leave of our senses and underestimate Pauliena Rooijakkers' ability to get herself into trouble before she gets to the bit that suits her in stage races.

BTW, you all realise that there was a time when this was how people watched cycling; relying on a stationary cameras along the route.

How did those people cope?!

Ten years ago, the coverage of Flèche Wallonne was one of the RTBF commentary guys sticking his phone out the window when the riders appeared at the top of the Mur.

Yeah, there's definitely been an improvement in the coverage over the years, even if this race ended up as a bit of a poor example.
