After watching the women's ITT, I felt like some of the men could crash where Van Wilder did, but I didn't expect it to happen like that.

Thomas has been underrated on here his entire career, including when he won the Tour and especially the year he was 2nd. Even last year when he was at the front of the 1-week WT stuff it was as if that never happened. Why should this year be any different.

The Meintjes comparison is probably my favourite so far though.
That's because he was a half decent classics rider who turned into a GC climber aged 29 and falls over in most of his most important races, so even depite the significant results he has, a lot of people (myself included) still find it difficult to take him seriously as the type of rider he now is.
