Remco to attack on the last steep km?

I still think he needs some time before the real mountain stages.

Breakaways seem far more clued in this season,

Soft pedal most of the stage and the peloton will do the same as to not catch them too early, then turn the watts up near the pointy end

I agree but don't think this has anything to do with today. You don't give a 10 man break with some good riders get more than 6 minutes in a stage like this. Peloton reacted, but way too late. And Leknessund is also just on a really good day it seems.

Quickstep is lined up behind alpecin. Masnada is protecting Remco. Asgreen was the first rider but then dropped, Fausto is work for Remco now. Van wilder there also.

Alpecin goes to the front on the climb, and it slows the peloton down on the climb (based on the riders behind spreading out behind them). What’s the point of that?

Disappointing stage.. So see you Thursday for the next interesting race day.

Don't wait for Thursday. There is Tour of Slovenia tomorrow with Pogacar, Mohoric, etc. And for sprinters Groenewegen, Merlier, Ackermann.

The peloton could have easily caught the break when it was still 4 minutes at 25km left or something if they had been less stupid. I don't get at all why they are killing themselves now.
