And then 15 high mountain stages so that one dimensional climbers can still win

So:
one stage of 300km (MSR)
a few of 260km over cobbles or very hard parcour. (rvv/pr/amstel/liege/lombardie)
one ending on a wall (WP)
a small ITT (favouring the sprinters)
a big ITT (100km+)
and some HC colls.
and sprinter stages in between..

No, we need 21 breakaway stages, but if Guillaume Martin gets yellow on one of them the rest can be cancelled.

I think 1 hard version of LBL is enough for a GT. Plus a stage like Paris-Roubaix, then TTs and high mountains. Make the winner be a true all arounder, not a 1 dimensional climber like they are often these days

I’d still say even more all rounder and classics style stages. Doesn’t have to be PR style risk of mechanicals, but a few really hard roleur stages and more TTs. Could even get rid a mountain stage where nothing is going to happen and let that become one of the sprint stages to keep that number from plummeting to nothing.

Stage 1: 5 km ultra-technical prologue
Stage 2: LBL-styled tough hilly stage
Stage 3: 300 km, windy costal flat stage (including a 10-30 km bridge)
Stage 4: Strade-styled rolling gravel stage
Stage 5: Roubaix-styled cobbled stage
Stage 6: Mountain stage (3 high mountains + short murito finish)
Stage 7: High mountain stage (three high mountains with the penultimate climb being the toughest, flat finish)
Stage 8: 50 km time trial (mostly flat)

all caused by the electronic gear-shifting system, if I got that right. Any idea if he is the only one using that (or an updated version of it)?

edit: yes, according to Swiss media it's new, and somehow not working properly with the special bike setup he needs after his injury. So it should normally not affect anybody else

Also seems to be getting an abnormally large number of flats?
