They've just let him sail up the road! Lot of looking about going on! Much like his WCRR, 2x Liege, 2x San Sebastian and Vuelta wins.

The difference being that this time he'll be dedicating the win to a fallen rider.

If this clown celebrates at the finish I will puke.

I would imagine that his "celebration" would be pointing at the sky.

Obvious sentiment aside, that was quite the display of form, could be even better with 10 days of altitude, perhaps he's starting to feel a bit better with July on the horizon :nomouth:

Christ.

Anyone even indulging in discussing tactics or whatnot with regards to that non-race is barking up the wrong tree.

There was no race. There's nothing to discuss. It was a horrible day & there is no 'beautiful photo at the finish'. Everyone can pay tribute in their own way. Tbh I'm pretty grossed out by what just happened.

Tactically, Van Aert closing a gap that wasn't Evenepoel was a big, pretty basic mistake. I think most were near the limit, group on top of the climb was pretty small.

I would have also liked if they had a real race today instead of one where most people just don‘t have to care at all and have nobody to work for.

I don't really think the behaviour of the riders are best explained by it being a non-race. It was weird, but it didn't look scripted like wrestling.

It wasn't scripted. It was booked like an AEW match. The winner was pre determined. The riders had to figure out on the fly how they would go about accomplishing it

A worthy winner today, and chapeau to Welay Berhe for being the only one who even tried to go with him,

Berhe has been impressive - Crashed in his first race at Valenciana and was out for 4 months - Was good at his first race back at the Kanton race and has spent Suisse hauling Scotson up the climbs.
