He said the cold really got to him on that first stage in Romandie. His form seems to be okay, judging from his TT and his work on the front for Freire. And this time he actually prepared for the Giro, rather than being second reserve and called up two days before the start :)

yeah I have no idea about Romandie to be honest, only saw the results page, didn't read any post-comments, so that is encourgaing I suppose.

yeah his last minute inclusion made his performance that much more impressive. Hopefully he does well.

My schedule has 195 minutes of coverage this Sunday.

180 minutes for stage 7 and 105 for stage 9 (same as the UK).

Of course I would happily trade these minutes for being able to watch Pais Vasco and Romandie (even Romandie *sigh*) on TV.

So now we just have to hope some guys with a giant heater stand on all the high cols so Kruijswijk doesn't get cold

The weather in last year's Giro was sub-optimal in most stages as well, he got through that okay, so let's hope it's a one-off (otherwise there's still Slagter. Or Weening )

UK has only 60 minutes on Sunday. (superbikes and tennis)
However, HD in the UK has the full 195 minutes.
Using the Giro as a bargaining chip.
Hopefully, HD will have the full Etna coverage, too.

I did get it last year and I am doing it again this year. Quaility is very good. Sometimes I mute it in my office so I don't get to hear much what they are saying.

The other free feeds have too much interruption and I don't like the quality as much.

Compared to Paulo Martins, there is no problem with Harmon at all. Phil, well, he's pretty bad. Once upon a time he was very good. The problem is, he's forgotten more about cycling than any of us will ever know. Unfortunately he only knew about as much as we will ever know in the first place.

Not really - Brits should earn their rides like anyone else. I'll be happy if he ever shows anything, but Brailsford pushing pet projects who play around on the track at the expense of real riders is disappointing.

Actually I think it's quite ridiculous of them to replace him with Serge Pauwels. Another example of Sky favoring their British riders. Serge Pauwels deserved a spot, considering that he was getting back in form and also judging by his solid 2009 giro, where he was very strong.

They should have replaced Possoni instead...for obvious reasons.

Is that what happened? Serge Pauwels hasn't exactly lit it up at Sky.

No, but even using a 20% cost of capital to discount what he achieved 2 or 3 years ago, he's infinity ahead of this guy in a merit ranking.
