Kennaugh has shown he has added use being part of the successful leadout train in Castilla y Leon, and is far more useful in a TTT than Pauwels.

That's one hundred posts right there. Congrats.

Not really - Brits should earn their rides like anyone else. I'll be happy if he ever shows anything, but Brailsford pushing pet projects who play around on the track at the expense of real riders is disappointing.
I didn't even know Serge Pauwels wasn't injured or something. No-one will miss him in the Giro. This Kennaugh guy will at least give the commentators something to discuss, about how the hell they should pronounce his name.

Makes sense for Sky really. Pauwels hasnt really done much for them, and is very likely to change teams at the end of the season, while Kennaugh is one of their big development hopes, and British.

Someone hasn't read the news today I guess.

Bos has a 'luchtwegen infectie'
so... he isn't going to start

Don't think Theo Bos makes the news here in Belgium :p

Pauwels seems to be pretty annoyed and disillusioned at his exclusion, which is fair enough allthough he came to sky as a promising upcoming rider and has flopped. Not the only one which is worrying.

Agreed Kennaugh hasn't shown anything either but he is young and a potentially talented GT rider. No is about the right time in his career to give his first GT.

What I can't understand is why Callstrom is in the squad who has done nothing before he came to and while at Sky. Allthough I also think Possoni should have been left out on ethical grounds.

Pleased for Pete Kennaugh if he is indeed riding, however I personally would have thought that this particular Giro Parcours would be too much for a first attempt at a GT for a young rider.

Still - good luck to the lad.

isn't paulo martins a little, well.. bad?
i also don't like marco chagas. he is so hypocrite.
That's the point - Paulo is so bad that compared to him, Harmon is absolutely amazing.

I like Marco Chagas though.

Just to note: It's Kennaugh's first Giro, but not his first GT. He was in the Vuelta squad last year that was first hit by a virus, and then the sad death of Txema the Soigneur.
It is an opportunity for him to finish a GT for the first time though.

ya i used to like paulo but i never really paid much attention to what he was saying for me he was there to identify the cyclists. but i came to realize that he really sucks and most of the times seems to have no idea about what he is saying.

the other commentator(luis) is decent tho and usually does a good job at keeping stuff a bit less boring. the french guy(olivier) that usually is there from time to time is funny so i like him

Fair point. Had forgotten about that...

Compared to Paulo Martins, there is no problem with Harmon at all. Phil, well, he's pretty bad. Once upon a time he was very good. The problem is, he's forgotten more about cycling than any of us will ever know. Unfortunately he only knew about as much as we will ever know in the first place.

Luckily I wasn't drinking something or I would've sprayed my monitor after reading that!

I thinking of joining Universal Sports for this Giro-haven't done it before-I like Frankie comments but the other guy is annoying as hell- the video is top quality though- any advice from you folks on this? thanks in advance :)

I subscribed to the Giro and Vuelta last year and enjoyed both on Universal. They have since upgraded their player and I think the video quality is even better. Commentary is fine.
