maybe contador can be beaten because hes had a flu, his team is not very strong and will lose time in the TTT. And for GC I will be supporting IGOR ANTON!

Its a pity that morabito isnt participating he might have gotten a top 10 in the GC. him and evans are the only GC riders in BMC.

i very much doubt that, there are easy 10-15 guys stronger at the giro.

I think he could ride a top 11-15 but probably not a top 10. This giro field is too storng but you always have a 1 or 2 favourites who fall away quite early in the race, a few crashes for the big favourites and a few big surprises.

Nibali's Liquigas team looks interesting. He has 5 climbers to help him but probably a terrible timetrial team

I don't think they're too fussed about a 19km TTT - you're not likely to make major time gains from it.

As for KOM, my first thoughts were Gadret or Tschopp

besides Liquigas is always good in TTT, independently from the line up. It's not all about individual TT abilities in a TTT.

BMC is a classics team... I dont blame them for having a team without a GC man... but that team is way better that I expected!

And how is that working out for them? Not a very good team if they are a classics one. :D

Sella is my tip for the KOM. He is going for stage wins so will pick up points and probably end up going for the jersey whilst they ride for Serpa and Rujano for the overall.

This would be my list of candidates.

Seeldraeyers, Pineau, Cataldo - probably more likely Pineau as he will go for a lot of early breaks and if he lands the jersey, will defend it.
Nieve
Sella, Rodriguez
Nocentini
Carrara
Possoni - he had an idea for it last year
De Greef
Rohregger - Leopard will probably try and get something out of the Giro and he will be in a lot of breaks.
Bruseghin, Samoilau

according to Alexandr Kolobnev two russians gonna start the giro for Katusha, so this may not be the final line up.

Rujano - hasn't done anything for ages
Duarte - still quite young and the giro is punishing to young riders with the amount of mountain stages.
Sella - hasn't shown much yet to say he will do much, even if he does do well in Trentino

Been one of the best this season... whether it translates to a GT or not we simply cannot know.

I don't think Sella is a Grand Tour GC rider anymore. In Appenino he struggled a bit on the big climb, and yesterday he lost over 3 minutes.

Langkawi, Sardegna and Settimana Coppi e bartali are solid races but you can get cheap points in some of those races(reffering to CQ).

Still got way better GC prospects than Szmyd, who will be solidly domestiquing once again.

Niemiec has a better chance of a good GC position than Szmyd, though I suspect he will similarly be sacrificing himself for Scarponi.

I wonder if Liquigas will use the same tactics with Nibali as leader. The train thing is really only effective if you have the strongest climber on your team, and that won't be Nibali.

It was just a general list, some riders like Rujano and Sella I haven't really followed at all but I just went on my instincts if I thought they should go on the list.

my thoughts exatcly./I suspect liquigas to ride defensive and let szmyd drop back whenever nibali drops

Seriously ACF what have you got agains these guys. You similarly left Sella out of the list for Trentino on the basis that "he was a doper" while including Schumacher and Garzelli:rolleyes:

acf clearly has no clue about cycling which is hilarious at times because I wonder what his face would look like when he sees Rujano dropping Nibali and others in may.

also when evans leaves bmc will you become a fan of that team again?? let's say he goes to astana?
