What worries me more is the grupetto chasing hard on the descent to stay within the time limit, down the Crostis...eek!

That descent looks unreal. Ok maybe in this case they really are going TOO FAR.

Also, anyone expect anything from Vacan. Hoogerland?

Carrara is their GC leader. He has done specific preparation on altitude. He's a very decent climber, maybe finishing around 10th on GC is possible. His time trialing absolutely sucks, but that doesn't matter in this Giro.

Hoogie will probably go on the attack every day, as we've come to expect from him.

At least the riders have safety nets. I wouldn't want to be in a Spanish team car!
Lucky that the Tour doesn't need such publicity stunts, given their........er.......publicity caravan.:D

Precisely, if Hoogie is on form he will do top-15 or so with all his attacks. I hope he does, would be so nice to see again like the Vuelta from 2009.

wtf? This is the crostis descent. Other than strategically placing hungry, rabid pit bulls, i'm not sure how you can make this even more dangerous.

We have three rouleurs: Tossato, Klostergaard and Morkov. In the high mountains, it is Hernandez' and Navarro's job to help Alberto. Richie Porte, Gustov and I are responsible for the medium mountains and the flat.

Uhhhh...
Only Dani and Jesus for High mountains?
Jesus has a decent form but Dani is sucking big time... hope that Porte find a climber legs from somewhere... Alberto is going to need him... Contador will have to ride the perfect tactical race to win this Giro...

Carrara will take one stage! I have a feeling about it...

That was a good one...!
But If only Fuji takes 5 ppl with him the whole Euskaltel will take 4 or 5 teams with them :D

Yeah that descent does look pretty ropey, I mean anton versus Nibali on that piece of track? Ouch. And this is coming from a Euskaltel-Euskadi fan... Wouldn't mind seeing Samu versus Nibali though. I wonder if anyone will dare to attack on the Crostis with this descent in mind, because there will be lots of people who wont want to do anything on that descent. Although maybe peace will occurr as none of the favourites want to lose any time etc.. But then again, this is Il Giro!!! haha...

Rya: Do you really think Conti has to worry?

What I'm afraid of most this Giro is Conti putting time into everyone on every climb there is. And then even more time in the TT. I just can't see Contador losing this Giro unless he gets unlucky.
I hope I'm wrong, because this Giro could become really boring because of Contadors dominance.

it would be great fun if contador doesnt win. maybe we will get to see the unveiling of a new talent. I have a lot of faith in fuji after his 2010 vuelta. dani navarro is actually a great domestique he broke contador and andy from everyone else.

Yup, I predict someone like Nibali, or someone else of the favourites, will attack on the descent of the Crostis. I'm even willing to take a signature bet on that (no avatar bet, I already have that one going)

I hope so but if its as dangerous as it looks I reckon the favourites could just ride in together.

Really? If he tried to go solo on the descent and then go solo from the bottom of the Zoncolan, he'll go backwards pretty quickly and blow imo.
