probably mentioned a million times but Gilbert for sure. Never comes across as arrogant and seems like a very like able and approachable guy, as well as a great cyclist.

this is from an Australian perspective, not sure if it's any different from within Europe?

I will second Nicholas Roche. Hast done anything wrong & from his diaries seems very thankful & appreciaitive of his teammates (John Gadret the selfish little pup aside). Comes across as very likeable & hes only getting started.
I like him & good luck to him. You can be sure hes cute enough not to stand on the wrong toes either.

He's from the French part of Belgium, that automatically gives him a lot of haters.

Don,t like these riders:Menchov=boring Gt rider/The new Cadel Evans
Cancellara=Cry baby/whinger.
Ricco=Attitude su*ks
Maybe a rider like Adam Hansen should go on the list...

How is Menchov 'the new Cadel Evans'? He turned pro before Evans, he's won 3 GTs, and had won one before Evans had ever really challenged (he dropped way out of contention after losing the Maglia Rosa in 2002), and he tends to keep schtum rather than whine when things go badly.

Not to mention that Evans is a superb bike handler, as evidenced by his MTB background, performance on the Montalcino stage and on the cobbles in the Tour.

Where? not in Flanders; we all see him as a true Flandrien:p we're a bunch of hypocrits you know :p + he actually speaks dutch! No Gilbert haters here.
Voigt's cool too.
Can't stand Sagan though;or isn't he a top rider yet?

The comment section on the always reliable HLN website suggests otherwise ;)
I found at least a couple of haters. They might be trolls though.

Are there Menchov haters? There's a guy who's really earned his "Silent Assassin" nickname. You don't hear much about him and he doesn't talk, but every time you turn around, there he is, once again high in the GC standings with a shot at victory.

I really hate menchov, he´s racing as a damn coward and his interviews are even worse

What about Boonen? I know his habit of sniffing coke off of 16 year old girls' behinds is kind of divisive (some are all for it, others jealous, a few genuinely offended), but he seems like a nice guy. And he's usually honest when he loses about having been beaten by someone who had better legs that day.

wow!! I sure hope your name is not pinocchio or your nose would now be longer than the eifeltower.

his lame excuses for losing are LEGENDARY, and I+m sure any dutch speaking cyclignfasn can add to my list

- I couldn't win the sprint because my front tire was flatting(slowly puncturing you know)
- I didn't win because I already saw that Pozzato was winning and didn't want to overtake him that's why petacchi was 2nd and me 3rd (milano sanremo few years back)
- I couldn't get my gear on the 11 so that's why I couldn't sprint harder(he has used this excuses at least 7 times on tv interviews after a race)
- I didn't win because I didn't have any more drink in my cabin and I didn't want to ask one of my teammates (yes i'm not making this up!!)

-I took the lead too early (rerun showed it was 75 meters from the line)
forgot which race it was.

Fair enough - but to me, his ability to animate a race outweighs all that.

HLN doesn't count :) Gilbert gets much love in Flanders, even is he's a Walloon.

I'd just like to point out that the times CN has misquoted him is equally long. You watch the Sporza interview, read what CN turned it into and think, wait a minute, that's not what he said! They get the gist, but often miss details/connotations. This goes for all Dutch speakers, by the way.

I think Ulle was and is really liked, too.
Being the only contender for you-know-who would make anyone an angel in public's eyes.

But even then Ullrich faced lots and lots of critique in his time.

Wasn't it the reason he moved away from T-Mobile to Bianchi for one year?

I'm talking here about live sporza interviews on camera, don't try to make excuses for him either I presume you are belgian too, as it seems typically belgian for some reason but it makes me sick to my stomach. just be a man and admitt you were beaten by a stronger guy, otherwise you are trying to insult my intelligence I've seen you get beat so why lie about it.

devolders lieing insults at this past eneco were also hilarious, if they weren't so damn annoying.

What was I thinking, trying to act like a normal adult on an internet forum. The attacks are uncalled for and you know it, all I did was point out that the translations on CN from Dutch to English aren't always spot on.

3 points

1. Does anyone else find it ironic that in a post, essentially asking "who do you hate", everyone ends up writing which riders they like.

2. A few more nominations. Numbers 2 3 4 from this years giro and 2 3 4 from last years.

Surely Arroyo has got to be one of the least hated podium finishers in the history of gts (though if you really want to pick on straws. i remember some people on this forum were upset that he was on the pink bike a day too long)

And has Sastre been mentioned? Surely the least hated winner of the grandady of them all in living memory.

3. It really is up to the OP, but this Liberum Veto voting system never works ( and I should know, we Poles practically invented the system). All the evidence points to the fact that thousands of people read these forums. The chances are every rider will have at least one hater. Anyone can just sign in and immediately get a non hated rider of the list, just for kicks.
