he didn't say it's the hardest ever.
edit: maybe I misunderstood your post. care to explain?
Well, apparently he didn't. To me 'Dura no' = not hard. Although Purito has a strange way to convey thoughts through twitter. Like I don't get what he means by 'Lo siguiente'.

On the other hand, Alejandro agrees it's very hard.

Durisimo el recorrido de la próxima vuelta a España, con mucha montaña. Seguro que a la afición le va a encantar.

Purito says: Not hard, more (hard)!

so he agrees with Valverde.

In any case, neither of them say it's the hardest ever

You got pretty close on it. The most accurate translation of Purito's words would be: Not hard, the next thing after.

Purito says:

"Spectacular Vuelta this year. It's not hard, it's the next step".

So it means it's very hard. I don't think Purito and Valverde were expecting from Vuelta a stage of more than 230 kms. If you add uphill finishes, Angliru, stages of more than 230 kms and more intermediate climbs on the stages.

This is the responsable who told Unipublic to include a long stage of more than 220 km:

I vote yes because seemingly it is the hardest course for the last 10-15 years. I don't think remote past interests us too much.
