According to the route. Is Vuelta 2013 the hardest Vuelta of the history?

I vote yes because seemingly it is the hardest course for the last 10-15 years. I don't think remote past interests us too much.

Vuelvo a casa después de haber presentado junto a mi compañero Carlos de Andrés una muy bonita gala de presentación del recorrido de la Vuelta ciclista a España 2013 de la que todos hemos salido muy contentos.



Bueno todos, todos no. Una vez terminada la ceremonia, en los pasillos, he notado la sensación que tal vez a Unipublic se le había ido la mano. La gente del mundo del ciclismo –entre la que me incluyo– considera que esta nueva edición va a ser más dura aún que la de 2012 y eso es algo que asusta.

Muchas sorpresas no es que haya habido porque casi todos los finales ya se conocían debido a las típicas filtraciones. Faltaba una por saber y su conocimiento ha sido la puntilla en cuanto a la dureza en el ánimo de los directores y ciclistas. Me refiero a la etapa con final en Francia, la etapa que va de Andorra a Peyragudes.

Yo, personalmente, siempre creo que el ciclismo tiene que recuperar sus raíces y conceder gran protagonismo a la épica y a la epopeya. Al fin y al cabo, las carreras las hacen buenas los ciclistas y hasta que no veamos quiénes van a disputarla y en qué momento llegan a la Vuelta no podremos hacer muchas conjeturas sobre el recorrido. Tan solo me atrevo a decir, así a bote pronto, que sobre el papel podemos estar delante de la Vuelta más dura de la historia, al menos de las que a mí me suenan entre las que corrí y las que he comentado.

La Vuelta 2013 se la llevará un corredor que esté en forma durante las tres semanas. No vale hacerlo bien la primera o la última semana para asegurar el triunfo. El arranque es duro y exigente sí pero es que los últimos días en Asturias van a ser decisivos.

El problema –o ventaja si miramos lo sucedido el año pasado– de la Vuelta ciclista a España es que la gente llega muy condicionada por las caídas, esfuerzos, etcétera que se van acumulando a lo largo de la temporada.

Esto hace que sea precipitado hablar ahora de quiénes van a estar en la lucha por el maillot rojo pero a priori, si tuviera que hacer ahora mi apuesta, daría como favorito a Joaquim 'Purito' Rodríguez para conseguir el triunfo. Un triunfo que se le escapó el año pasado.

El único pero que le veo a esta Vuelta 2013 son los largos desplazamientos que se van a realizar a lo largo de las tres semanas. Si ya hablamos de que es dura en sí por el recorrido, restar horas de descanso en desplazamientos va a dar un plus de fatiga que va a ser una vuelta más de tuerca.

It might be the hardest Vuelta, but who's going to ride it to win (not training for the worlds)? The big names are concentrating on either the Giro or/and Tour. Andy, Vincenzo, Purito, Alberto?

in recent times, vuelta was extremely hard ridden.
there will be again guys who will fail both in giro and the tour and they will try to save here their season.3 or 4 of them are enogh to make it hard.plus lots of youngsters who want to show what they're capable of.
