Anybody who knows what Contadors weight is right now? He looked much thinner and sharp in the Tour last year. Just compare the pics, it's really clear especially when you see at the face. But also the body, it looks smaller.

He was a kilo below at the Tour last year, he was at his absolute peak. If he was at the same weight in this Giro, it'd be worrying. The goal is the double, not just the Giro.

He clearly said it just before the Giro started "I'm in good form, I've done a huge amount of kms climbing these 3 weeks (in tenerife) but I'm still a level below the form I had in the Tour last year. Which is good, since I wouldn't be able to hold that peak for Giro and Tour."

I don't know if he'll be in better form at the Tour, but he'll probably look a bit sharper than in this Giro.
And he doesn't look smaller lol, it's probably the black shoes which give you that impression. :p

his upper body seems to be bigger in this Giro compared to last year's Tour....he is 62 kilos right now and i think he was 60 kilos last year

if he successfully loses that 2 kilos we could see him ride upto a minute faster in the mountains

Of course people hate Froome. He is ugly on a bike, has the worst of all partners imaginable and would be the dumbest rider in the peloton if it wasn't for Richie Porte.

The biggest reason is Froome being the biggest threat for Contador in Grand Tours (your reasons is only consequence and notion to hate him even more which is the main goal of emotinally investing fanboy/hater) . Only Froome can drop Contador harshly in the mountains. Being beaten by Froome...There's nothing more painful than that for AC fanboy. That's a real drama, hurt, eternal butthurt and personal offense. Emotional control is something die-hard fans are unable to.

Not that bad, contador won 2 out of 3 GT's he battled froome, i'll take it.

And he won 8 GT's, froome 1. Once again i'll take it

I think it was all taken out of context and probably made out to be bigger than it was, after all the publishers want people to buy the books!

Froome has said several times he considers Contador his biggest rival and I know Alberto has said the same regarding Froome, I also believe there is a fair amount of respect between the two, both riders wished the other speedy recoveries after crashes last year whilst Froome also defended Contador earlier in the week when Astana forced the pace after Alberto's puncture.

I agree with you like I agree with you most of the time. You are coming from Sky/Froome camp and I come from the Contador camp, but you are always rational and also capable of cheering on any good ride.

Anyways Froome comes across a vit awkward at time in the book. Some people see it as offensive, but he never suggests Alberto is lazy. He only needed to think that Alberto was lazy just to motivate himself to do more. It was his way to motivate himself to go on and on. Well that does suggest he considers Contador as his biggest rival and threat to me. Besides that they have been openly respectful to eachother in the media.

I think it's just another piece that's been taken waaaay overboard. It happens a lot here.

Oleg is going to counter with a picture of an even more heartfelt hug from Bert. As he said, his charisma exceed that of Bjarne.

I hope wuyts sees that pic.

why?
10characters

Called contador an ordinary opportunist because he didn't 'support' Riis.

hahaha Wuyts thinks he's god and never dares to call names concerning clinic related matters and when he speaks out for once on a rider character he gets this picture in the face

if we can send / twitter the picture to De Cauwer or Meganck we can be sure they'll show it to Wuyts...

LOL indeed

Being a little bit more muscular can help you in the cold any rainy stages that almost every Giro has, so maybe it was his choice to be a little bit heavier for the Giro, when the Tour comes he should be as lean as he was last year.

It's beyond me how people see something disrespectful in the coffee comment.

It's hilarious at most. The fact that Froome has Contador so much in his thoughts during a training ride just to motivate him to train harder says enough. It tells us that Contador is his biggest challenger and he fears/respects Contador the most.

it's not disrespectful in a way like you called name to some one. Maybe it's not the right word. But the meaning behind that can be interpreted as Contador doesn't work hard in training since he spend most his time drinking coffee during training compare to Froome's training regime. That's what strike a cord to some people (maybe not you). Calling Contador lazy rider who trains around his coffee pitstop is just plain arrogant. That's all.

It's incredible what that you can hate a rider for making a funny comment. And add to that, that you are putting your label on his words and interpretates them in a way that is really far fetched is kind of telling. Not about what kind of person Froome is, but what kind of fan you are. Die hard fanboy, much?

I always see Contador as champion because he never comments about other riders. Whether they do wrong him or not. That's a comparison that I use. I just don't like Froome's attitude. He just won one Tour, then he decided making a book (nothing wrong w/ that), and of course, he has to say something about other rider on his book. Already then, I'm not gong to debate this to the nauseum. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I"m entitled to my reason to why I don't like or hate Froome (english is my second language, I don't get the language nuance like you are). Call them silly, stupid, whatever. That's my history from hating Froome to being neutral about him. He is a great rival for Contador and he has pushed Contador to be the best of he can be. Don't care whether his style rides likes a frog or staring on his stem. Long live rivalry!
