Pantani Attacks said:
Very strong stage for him/ Terrible starting position but climbed very very well and made it to the front. Was that an attack when he went to the side only for Sagan and the train to cross his path?

That or he wanted to ride for sagan but prob an attack for the 4 sec.

Tinkoff gonna smash tomorrow.

Tomorrow I think is one of the most important stage for Contador they need to smash the TT and put a minute into Froome...But TJ will probably go into the mountains in yellow

Bah. I saw him too behind to say he's strong. Sagan and Kreuz. ahead and him behind.
Uhm..

He was behind before it started, behind by a lot. His positioning has always been terrible. He looked pretty good, even wanted to attack

My predictions are right so far, Alberto looked easy today, hiding away out of the wind until the last few metres. TS should be able to put the required time into Sky tomorrow. I'm still hoping for Sagan in yellow as I thought a few days ago. Froome is going to get distanced in the final week.

Alberto looked good, started way back and made it to the front group, when I saw him that far back I was praying to the cycling gods, but he made it. And then he tried to launch an attack/go to the front, but Sagan blocked him ("NO! MY green jersey points!" :p )

Roman looks on form as well. Great to see after his terrible Giro.
Yep and Majka has looked good as well the few moments we saw him.

Alberto just said he wanted to lead out Sagan apparently :p

Better today. Less grimacing and I liked how he tried to pull for Sagan at the end there
But still not looking too smooth from what I've seen.

What's more interesting is that Froome didn't look really strong, he accelerated but really didn't make any difference . He really is wasting quite a lot of energy in this 1st week.

Tinkoff-Saxo is going to do a great TTT, at least top three.
I agree, 2nd behind BMC I think.
Toso, Mick and Benna will be the usual powerhouses, Sagan will be very strong as well, Contador is always good in TTT, Kreuziger looks in monster shape, even Majka looked good pulling on the hilly terrain earlier this Tour, Basso well he is Basso  and Valgren will do some big pulls earlier on. I think they will try to finish with Mick, Sagan, Roman, Alberto and Majka.

I hope all of you are right .:)
But wasn't Kreuz to launch an attack , instead of Berto?!
Yes it was Kreuziger earlier on, but with 200m to go you could see Alberto going to the front, he wanted to lead out Sagan but Sagan blocked him :p

Give basso some credit fleur.

I have a feeling Basso will show that they were correct to put faith in him. He's still a strong rider. He'll be strong in the mountains.

Wouldn 't Contador pulling for Sagan be wasting a lot of energy too?

I agree with you. He may not be amazing, but I think he will do just fine. Looking at Kiserlovski in Austria, he wouldn't have been a better alternative (outclimbed by CAS and Poljanski  )

De Jongh saying that Contador is suffering a little bit from his allergies, and sometimes have a little hard time breathing...

omg. here we go again. "allergies".

i'm sure they will be gone post rest day - rain or no rain.

Re:

Better mood all around. At one point you could almost shave yourself with the mood that was going round in here.

But not without reason. If he starts to feel better, and i think that is what we saw today, this is best possible news for tomorrow. Like many others i hope/think Tinkoff could be a factor for top -3, reduce the deficit to Froome (or even turn the table) and going to rest day in best position imaginable. It looks like they could have saved themselves for an all-out attack tomorrow. He could even be in yellow mind you.

If all this happens i think we could welcome the mountains with optimism.

Contador looked easy today.
Yep, he was super far back at the start, and still somehow made it to the first group.. he must have done the mur at least 10s faster than Froome :p ;)
