If they don't HAVE to invite him, I am not so sure they WOULD invite him.

wait? legally? 2008 his team astana was denied. I thought ASO can pick and choose whoever they want to invite (beside the WT team)? No?. But judging from Prudhomme comment on TDF, it doesn't sound like there's any indication that SBTB will be singled out. He was saying in the effect that alberto create the race, he makes the race exciting. If he saw how exciting the vuelta this year is compare to his *yawn* TDF, he would be crazy not to invite SBST regardless their WT license.
