Contador has been bit crash prone on descents in recent years. He crashed out of the Tour on a descent last year. And now today he's had another crash descending, which has cost him a couple of minutes. He also had that crash on the Alpe du'Ez descent in 2013 when he tried to attack Froome downhill. So he has actually crashed on descents in his last 3 Tours. Some people go on about Froome not being a good descender or bike handler, but he's actually been absolutely fine.
Thank you for you have seen the light. Your future will be prosperous.

Alberto may already be thinking about 2016, with his chances this year all but gone. He still has the Giro win, so it isn't a total loss, though far from what he really wanted. Is 2016 the swan song?

I say he tries the double again in his farewell year. One year older, one year wiser, he knows what he should have done or not done. Any champion or great entrepreneur know there are are no failures, just lessons in what you should not do next time when you go for the bulls-eye..

naahh.. not according to his interview yesterday

“The objective of the double is very difficult now,” he said at his rest day press conference. “I think I did something complicated but not only for this year because I don’t think I will try it again.

I agree.
Giro - Vuelta is doable.

nothing going right on this TDF for Contador. In fact, on all his TDF participation since he is back. It seems, he always has a set back. Dunno, maybe he is trying too hard, or it's not just his year again. O well, start thinking about next year. Last year, last TDF attempt. And finish in Vuelta to say goodbye.

Meh Contador was the Veulta and Giro back to back.

I would put a lot of money on him beating Froome next year in the TDF

Not too much money then, for your own safety ;)

It amazes me how many people on here seem almost giddy that he crashed, pretty pathetic
Giddy? Who?

Just reading comments on this thread and the race thread. I don't like calling out people, but for example someone said "Lance Armstrong, "Contador still has a lot to learn""

I see that as him mocking Contador.

Lance is right: he should will learn from him, his methods and surely Berto would have won this tour

The definitive end. What a ---- !!!
Tour really isn't his race

It was over in stage 10. You guys just couldn't cope with it so were in denial.

Nice try on the attack today though
Sure, but we hoped a suicide attack like Alpe 2011. Now, it's impossible and a no sense : he has a 0% for the victory,. He can go now for the ( f-----g) podium :(

Another year older, I think you would be throwing your money away.
And Froome isn't the only one who should be beaten.
The Tour will be the goal, nevertheless. Contador isn't going back to the Giro. That's what he said.
