oh well, that would explain the lack of power I was talking about, the moments I tried to describe was big ring moments when he simply pushed the pedals powerfully. Good.

Contador is one of the biggest liars in the peloton, fleur. In denial or are you lying about it? ;)

But he was good today, that acceleration was pretty good.

We would have know more, way more if the hill wasn't cancelled on wednesday. Now we gotta wait for the big battle in catalunya

My favourite has to be the gool ol' classic "tomorrow's climb isn't hard enough". Today it was actually the case however.

Great stuff from Contador, it was going to be difficult to find all that time on a climb like that, if the stage the other day hadn't been cancelled he'd have won the overall, that's saying nothing of the mechanical today. Dropping Porte and Dumoulin on a climb like that is encouraging
Yes very disappointing :( still he might pull a rabbit out of his sleeve tomorrow but it is unlikely.

One of my all time favorite lies is from 2008, when he said sastre was the favorite for the vuelta.

He had better lies though, he said in 2010 that he was gonna stay at astana during the tour ;)

In 2013 he prob had his best lies, that was something else.

Looking forward to the end of July when he will say that he was stuck on the small ring the whole Tour but his sensations were good.
Why would he make it up even to the point of looking down at his gears repeatedly with 10km to go? Is he a pathological liar?

Our finest since 2007! Single malted!

if you mean allegedly best numbers ever prior the 2013 tour, i don't find this a lie whatsoever. test numbers can be only indicative on where one really stands at and cannot model the conditions of racing against real fully fit opponents.

If it was only that, every day he got better, he said. Yea :D

well that's more about hopes and positive predictions, not lies imo. :p naturally he can't say everything's terrible and he gives up because it'll only inspires opponents. a leader always should try to keep team moral high, it's vitally important.

People need to stop overestimating Dumoulin after last years Vuelta.

He did get dropped on every long MTF.

I saw some of the Attacks and Contador looks good, just not a good parcours for him this PN. I was looking at Catalunya and PV, I think he'll take PV.

Also his performance reminds me of 2012 Vuelta.
But
last year he managed to come to Giro in a significantly better form than to previous races. If he manages to do that with Tour this year, there#s a hope.
It was still a strong performance, it reminded me of Covadonga in the 2014 Vuelta, he wasn't able to drop them on an irregular climb and got beaten in the sprint.

Yes but it was a Dumoulin type climb, big gear, power climb

How come tomorrow is being written off as an opportunity? Surely the descent all the way to the finish lends itself to an attack on the final cat 1 climb?

We cannot write it off, it's definitely an opportunity. But with the Sky train it'll be hard to take time.

I am practicing my voodoo skills.
If I had any voodoo skills you would have seen pouring rain from start to finishh durning every gc-relevant stage of the 2015 TdF and durning the last few editions of Paris-Roubaix, unfortunately that was no the case.

Yes, it was a bit depressing to see 5 on the front today on the last climb when there was only 20-25 riders left

Why would you hope for a rain tommorow? For bigger chance of another crash at descent?

No, to make the descent more challenging so those who want to risk it will be rewarded.

Can't do Bertie's morale any good to be beaten by Froome's hired help, nice dig he put in today though, certainly animated the race after Majka blew it to bits.

Funny old game Cycling. If Contador raced like the others, watching on wheels he'd of possibly finished ahead of Thomas. The Climb was also pretty damn soft. Then you have to factor in when Contador does that to you day after day on harder climbs. This race has been Piano all week, and on a climb lime that Im not suprised at a non dominant result. Thomas wasn't impressive, he just marks.
