It's always the same:

what the hell is Jay McCartney there for? To tell Kolar he cannot sprint and to tell Juraj, he should better become Peter's agent? Why is he not used properly? The Catalunya team is a disaster.

Hi Jakub. Wrong thread. Feel free to start a new one as you obviously feel strongly about this team selection ;)

Well I mean, it's all related to Bertie's team in Catalunya and later in TdF

What I was trying to say it may be true that he is feeling a cold after Paris-Nice, but that that cold is probably not invalidatory for racing in Cataluña with good (not perfect) prestations, and that his possible non-competition may be more related to the fear that he may lose this little psychological advantage he has gained against Sky and Froome in this start-of-season.

What gained psychological advantage over Sky and Froome may I ask? Whilst Contador looked very good last week in PN he still lost to Froomes number 2. If Contador beat Froome next week then I'd argue he'd gained a little advantage.

Hopefully Alberto recovers quickly and doesn't miss any racing, Catalunya next week looks like it could be great if all the big guns show up.

agreed. contador has no psychological advantage over sky at this point. i do find it amusing that after all this time folks think contador is shrinking from a battle--especially coming on the heels of yet another 'never-say-die' rides to win the overall.

Alberto is training on the rollers already, so hopefully this means his illness was nothing serious

The video is class - training and watching his own videos - that's what I call masturbation :D

I just played "quiz up", an online quiz app, and I had the question: In which sport WAS Alberto Contador successful.
Pretty sad that only because his last tour win is already so long ago it seems as some people don't even know he is still riding. Unfortunately that says a lot about the attention cycling gets in the media.

McCarthy is highly rated within Tinkoff - Is strong in the mountains and can be part of a sprint train - Is likely to ride the TDF.

Jay is their guy for the Ardennes Classics, he should be able to do something there - something good :)

I don't think Jay will make the Tour team but there might be a spot open because of Roger's health condition so you never know.

And with Alberto, let's hope he feels healthy enough to compete at the Volta

I dont know why you guys are overreacting to his post, i think that he just wanted to say that the race took its toll on him and that he's quite tired. I dont think he's sick, and if he was i think that he would have got it from the first stages and wouldnt have performed as he did Sunday.

McCarthy rode the Vuelta is 2015 and did a good job - He's in the mix for the TDF,even ift to help Sagan.

Well, considering Jesus' reply I do believe he felt a bit ill, or at the very least that's what he wants us to think

Source?
Roman Kreuziger is supposed to be the leader for Ardennes.

I didn't mean it as a sure thing. All I was trying to say was that Jay should be co-captain for the Ardennes Classics. This should be his year do shine in them, that's all. But I still don't think he'll make the Tour team although it's too early to tell right now.

Sounds like a bit of a sore throat, probably a little cold. Hopefully very minor!

LOL training to the Mortirolo, I love it :).

:D Most likely not fans at all. none of my friends understand my obsession with cycling. "your getting up early to watch what this weekend?" is typical

Will Valgren have a free role at Amstel like last year? He isn't showing a lot lately but maybe he's just working too much for the team.

If Valgren had more experience last year, in regards to positioning in the main group, he could have made a top 10/top 5 performance. Hopefully they let him unfold his potential this year!

That's really good news, thanks. Catalunya would have been a major disappointment without Contador.

The quote is a wee bit truncated. Can someone with Spanish give us a complete translation? Unfortunately, I understand the dopaje word, but of course not in this forum but interested nonetheless...

Can't really answer without having to take it to the Clinic (not that I'm pointing the finger at Bertie or any other specific rider).

This is the best! Just at the point when he is ready to eat up Aru and Landa!
