He's not gonna surrender in this vuelta, even if the GC is over unless he broke something.

Contador is not that kinda man, luckily he doesn't resemble most of his fans ;)
I agree, he won't give up, I don't think its over.

I like how when you're in 4th place turning into the final corner your chance of another riding risking too much and making you crash is smaller than that happening in 10th place. Because logic.
Exactly. How often does a crash happen in the first few positions of the peloton?

Well then leave. No one forces you to support him.
That is ridiculous !!!. I'm only saying what he will tell his wife on the phone tonight !
I've no idea what you're saying. You make no sense.

Quite often before a bunch sprint. At least more often than in 20th or 30th position

Most crashes do seem to happen in that 8th to 18th position kind of places because they're the guys that are still in "contention" but only if they take risks.

He was well positioned by his team mates, he **** up dropping back before bend. Idiot, it's his own fault. Very disappointed. I could see it was a mistake dropping back. Just terrible move.
He didn't drop back on purpose so he didn't "**** up", he isn't an "idiot" and it wasn't a "mistake" or a "terrible move"
He eased off the gas and left his team mates wheels, very foolish, he will now pay the price.
you might be right. His slowing down... while others was on the top speed. Top view Contador's crash.

He couldn't keep his teammate's wheel, something we've seen at least a hundred times in the past few years. Not sure why it's a surprise to you.
No way could he not have stayed in position today.

It's simple, when he speaks with his wife tonight he will say, I was a prat for dropping back, I should have stayed on my Team mates wheels !. That's what anyone who realises there mistake would do !

You've not followed his movements in the peloton throughout his career much then?

I don't care about bike handling discussions...I'm just sad again. Completely in disbelief accompanied by shock and anger. Just one last Grand Tour without any incidents..am I asking for too much?

Look, we can go over this again and again. Fact is, you have to choose. Either he stays at the front and risks a crash (in first 5 positions a crash is very unlikely) or he drops back and allows Froome (or whatever Skybot he's facing in that particular case) to gain time when a gap occurs in the peloton.

If we're lucky we'll see him ride to 4th place at the Tour next year. At this point, the chance of him crashing is probably above 75%.

I've followed everything. I'm not sure what you are saying. If he is not capable of holding position then that's a negative attribute and when I see moves like the one he made today I'm going to pull him on it.

I wish him well the rest of the race otherwise Froome has it in rhe bag, again !!

First emotions over people? Maybe crash didn't affect him much, you never know. Maybe it's terrible, maybe he won't feel much tomorrow.

We'll see, no one knows.

Think Contador needs a change of strategy for 2017 - Think his form is good but he is making silly mistakes in major races - Maybe he can wind up this season and start 2017 in Australia - Stretch his legs and gain confidence.

Did you see his face when he crossed the line? He looked pissed - his "not this *** again"-face. He probably realized he threw it all away there.

he should work on this bike handling skills or work with a sportspsychologist, if its mental
He crashed a lot. Maybe he is mentally tired with the pressure on him all the time. And small lesson from Sagan on positioning and bike handling won't be a bad idea. If this year would have his last year, boy.. what a shitty year to end a career. Luckily, he would have another chance next year. But his crashes prediction is going up to 100%. It not a matter of "if".. but more "when and what" stage.

Oh no - I see that going horribly wrong. He should prepare as usual, ride Paris-Nice, Catalunya and for the love of god aim for the Giro, not the Tour.

Should be neutralized at 3k mets, if not it's another disaster decision by jury.

Isn't this a case of lost self-esteem? Happens alot it seems, one accident makes one less confident in ones abilities. Quite natural if you think about it.

Now I'm not sure he's done for - let's see, but in the short interview he looked broken to me.
