Has AC actually ever released his training numbers? Cause he's been claiming this like every year "my number are better, my numbers are better", but if this were the case, he should at least come close to do a Verbieresque performance once a year.
Perhaps it's true, but he can't carry those training numbers into races. He could be doing another Verbier right now on Pico de las Nieves. Wouldn't be too much of a surprise considering that nowdays he just surrounds himself with yes-men, instead of actually working with the best coaches and team mates he can.
Wouldn't call De Jongh a "yes-man".

De jongh is a yes man, no personality at all. You must be blind if you don't see that.

Nationalism maybe? But we're so mad at the brits when they act like that

I won't wait for fleur to respond by saying "no no de jongh change contador's training method how can he be a yes man "

I can look into the future after all or just know how someone is :)

Contador called de jongh and told him to train him, de jongh never convinced contador and as far as we know he never attempted to. Contador was laughing at paulinho for following his training. Contador just wanted to try something new.

So Contador talking about how he felt at the Vuelta and why he thinks he is still as good as ever

https://audioboom.com/posts/5268018-27-the-off-season-ramble

He is still as good as ever, but he is not the best, except in some kind of ITT as Pais Vasco

Ouch, that's a bit harsh considering the man had some terrible luck in the GTs with accidents and then had to put up with Tinkov as well. Still think he'll have the capacity to win a few more big races in the next couple of years.

Malacarne is saying that he does not have a contract for next year. Surely Contador could use another decent mountain worker

So, what's his schedule going to look alike?
Dauphine preceding the Tour should be fixed point. Spanish spring as well. I wonder how he'll close the winter and enter May.

Well, creativity in season scheduling is not something Contador is often accused of, and rightfully so, those Giro's not withstanding.

Pretty much standard.
Anything before March and in May?
Probably Algarve in February, nothing in May.
American market's on my mind, since the title sponsor is (still) American.
Froome has ruled out February's racing, but hinted towards California. I'd love to see Andalucia 2015 like introduction to the Tour. All that while Giro's running in Italy.
Dauphine, round three, afterwards.

Not many head to heads we'll see in 2017. apart from those in GTs.
Giro buildup might be more exciting, but Aru should prefer Trentino over Nibali's Liege.

We need Riders' schedules thread.

I highly, highly doubt he'll race in May, let alone on the other side of the world. May is the month of one of his most important training blocks.

Without the best people at his same shape, yes, he has, as he has done recent years

Sounds suspiciously similar to how Froome won the Tour last year

Next Paris-Nice will have a Mont Brouilly MTT, good for Berto :)
Thats indeed great news for him. I don't know why but Contador is incredibly good in climbing steep ramps in the beginning of TT's.

Sound as it is, Froome and Quintana are better riders tha the best Contador, except for Pais Vasco. If Quitana is preparig Giro as in 2014 and Alberto le Tour, Alberto will be in better shape in Tirreno. In that condition yes, Alberto will be the favourite.

But all of them aiming le Tour, Alberto, the good as ever as he said, is not more favouirite than Chaves or Porte, just a little bit more for experience and status.
