He said after the Paris attacks he wouldn't use the pistolero celebration in France anymore, and I don't think he did (he only had one opportunity anyway).

Let's bring this home today. We all need the pistol shot.

Just a thought - does anyone think he'll avoid that celebration? Especially after the London attack. Could be a tad inappropriate.

The London terrorist used a suv and a knife. I fail to see any relationship.....

Time to shine!

There are no reasons for not doing it, so get it over with.
Yep, now or another story of underperforming relative to expectations on MTFs.

He is always underwhelming in catalunya (bar 2011) but he doesn't have a chance against froome. Froome is just a better climber.

ouch ouch, very disappointing.
Dropped like a stone from valverde. and then he followed with fatigue a Froome just returned to races.
No excuses, today is bad day

I suppose 3rd on the stage is not terrible. But it's still sad to see him being quite easily dropped by Valverde and even getting pipped by a race rusty Froome at the end. I would have thought Contador's form should be ahead of both those riders.

Yeah horrible. Kina reminds me of last year so far. Great last stage in P-N, disappointing in Catalunya. He needs to be beating Froome by 20-30 sec with his current form.

Not a bad day, its simply just his level

So you don't think he can do better than today? I don't believe he is on his highest form right now

3rd is Not good :( Disappointing ride :(

The only solace I can find is that Bala won. It pays to have more than one favorite.

Piti and Froome are two of my least favorite riders, so I'm not too happy they beat Berto. But Gaudu's performance was exciting. I feel sad for Tejay!

No other rider puts in a 55km effort alone to win a race on top of stages he pulled in cross winds the flat. Valverde and froome were chilling at home. Contador does too many race days imo

Disappointing ride today, the way he was hyped as the favorite before the stage doesn't help. He's usually a bit below par here so I'm not panicking.

He didn't look very bad but never looked smooth and comfortable either, he was wrestling a huge gear- normal for him these days, but he seemed to be struggling more than usual. It wasn't meant to be. Maybe he feels Paris-Nice in his legs, maybe he just isn't strong enough. I hope he can take a win in Pais Vasco.

Bad day is for me and his fans
He was defeated by two stronger riders, that's the sadly truth. Hope for better times (PV) but l'm a bit worried u_u

Not good today. He has some big chances of finishing the season without a single win. At least he wasn't second today though
It's March! Come on.
I don't think he will get a stage or GC win in the Tour and he will probably be 2nd or 3rd in Vuelta and some mtn stages will go to the breakaway. Froome will probably be better in the Dauphine and he will probably get beaten by Roglic or Alaphilippe in PV

He doesn't do too many race days. In fact when you compare his race days per season to other riders he has very few. OTOH, he races 3 big stage races in the span of a month and he races them hard. Which is why I'm a bit worried about Pais Vasco, it's hard to see him recover in just one week.

One thing is for sure and that is PV isn't going to be a walk in the park considering his level but more importantly the riders he is going up against.

Yeah "probably" this, "probably" that, just wait and see. If were at the end of June and he still has no wins, you can start worrying.

He can start worrying whenever he wants to. May I remind you of those countless of posts that you've made stating how nervous you were this would be a year of 2nd places? We all know he hardly is winning any road stages at this point, so.
