Obviously we'll just have to wait and see. He seemed a bit resigned today, but there a couple of stages left.
Stage 8 of dauphine is perfect to him. I think he will win there (he is almost 2 minutes down)

He literally never went to the front, never attacked and did not even tried to follow Porte's acceleration. It will get better.

In itself, I'm not too worried about today (stress on 'too'), but given how his team already now talks about targeting the Giro next year, I think they can see the writing on the wall. Sigh

Don't know what image you're referring to, since "believing in unicorns" is equal to "believing in fairy tales". This is a forum, not a congregation of sissies, but you're free to report the image, if you feel you must. I would say that maybe he was holding back some, getting in racing miles, but as we all know with Contador, he can't restrain himself. If he had the form to challenge Froome and Porte, he would have been there.
I need to see the climb again, but I'm certainly not going to panic about his form, or suggest that he won't be up with the best at the Tour.
Not bad considering he said he isn't close to top shape yet. We will know better in the upcoming stages.
I'm 100% sure he will be better in the next stages. The problem is: contador in top shape is able to follow froome in top shape (specially in climbs like PDBF)? I think not...
Really strange stage... Contadot didn't even try to follow. He usually tries and cracks. This time he just didn't accelerate. Simple as that... Like he wasn't even interested... Didn't push much on the descent either...

that's what i saw but my stream was breaking up constantly. i think when Porte attacked he didn't try to follow and never upped the tempo.
