So what do we think Alberto will do tomorrow, multiple attacks a la Oman or try something a bit different and attack a lot closer to the finish?

Personally I don't think he can help attacking so much and will do the same, hopefully with a different result :)

I'm still not sure what Alberto really thinks about Froome. I suspect he may keep his powder dry until later on depending on how things go. J Rod could be the trigger tomorrow. But I've no doubt Nibs will try to stir things up as well.

If for no other reasons than he can't really climb without attacking, he will do it to get read of a number of the competitors. Let us see who will be able to counterattack

What I was getting at is that I think Contador is still unsure about Froome and won't go early like Oman. I can't see Froome going anytime before AC but I can see Nibs and JRod going before both. Hopefully Evans is going to be in the mix also.

Acs base form is really not even close to what he had pre ban. I mean even his "weak year" 2010 was waaay better than this "i am getting beaten by a 41 year old fast food eater" attitude

The most plausible answer is the absence of clinic help. But let this topic for the clinic forum.

Yes because he was the only one that was drinking "sports drinks" in the god old (3 years ago) days

He is now an old sad spaniard with a couple of 1 minute attacks every now and then. He should have stayed in Astana.

Why isn't it plausible that his rivals have become stronger?

i think this is the weakest alberto since 2006,maybe even earlier
it might be a bjarne tactic to make him peak only one time for le tour because they are shiit scared about sky and they don't want to spend energy not even in one race beside le tour. but this would not be the alberto we know

Is that a normal Bjanre tactic? Cnat remember how Basso 06 season was before the giro for an example. Mybe Andy "only tour" Schleck is an outcome of working with Bjarne after all :p

Contador has stated that he was going to peak from Tirreno to Pais Vasco, maybe he is at 95% here. The single race he will do at 100% is TdF.

And recovery is still his best weapon so we must wait see a 3 weeks race but at one week I don't see him better than Froome/Sky.

Don't forget Froome hasn't been fighting against Cataldo (lol:eek:), Uran and Henao.

Basso´s spring in 2006 was solid, Top10 and Top20 placings. Top10 in Tirreno, Top10 in Liege, won Crit. International.

I need contador of giro 2011 back :(

Let's hope riis has a plan

It's impossible. Contador can win the Tour surely, but it will be done with irreally giant effort.

Strongly disagree. A price of the matter is 15 miserable secs? Say, Alberto would have outsprinted Froomey and won the stage. What could have most of us talked? It would be something like: 'Look it is only March and he wins. Gotta crush everyone everyone in July... With good reason. No one knows what tactics would be optimal for today's stage, but it was not a fail, IF one contemplates objectively, without burdening oneself with excessive expectations. Only the most inveterate optimist could sincerely suppose that Contador would crush everyone today by more that 20-30 seconds. There will be a lot of blood with absolutely unpredictable outcome in July. I'm sure a winner won't be defined until Annecy stage and going to avatar bet with anyone for that. So, no panic.

Yes, papa Horner at the age of 41 has clearly improved and become a better rider than AC of 2009

Ah... but Chris Horner was wheelsucking all the way and only managed same time as AC :D

If Contador didn't attack maybe he could have followed Froome but that's it:(

In 14 Feb 2013 Contador was 23 seconds behind Froome in the MTF.
in 9 Mar 2013 Contador was 15 seconds behind Froome in the MTF.

This means that Contador is gaining 8 / 23 = .35 seconds on Froome per day.

So when we reach Ax 3 Domaines on 6 Jul 2013, 119 days away, Contador will be 119 * 8 / 23 - 15 = 26.4 seconds ahead of Froome.

No reason to panic.

Wwabbit thank goodness you're not serious otherwise that would be the most ridiculous post ever.

I think I'm going to take a break from cycling for a couple of years. A shame because that means I'll have to miss the last few years of Alberto's career. But I can't watch this anymore. What a farce.

Damn, are you a real fan???! You MUST support your rider both in good and difficult moments, otherwise you are a gloryhunter.

Lol that's somehow funny coming from airstream.

I still support Alberto but I can no longer watch team sky's US postal like domination.
