He was just marking the others today. Not once did he hit the front. He will attack on the last climb tomorrow, and secure the overall in the ITT :)

While he never attacked today I think he looked more comfortable; not under duress as he was yesterday. At least that is what I saw during the limited views we got because of the rain and the camera jumping back and forth to other groups.

Team = Absent :mad::mad:

2012 Vuelta it was sunny and warm, plus lots of GC action to drive a lower time up the climb.

that's what someone else said on the other forum, will have to watch highlights to check.

Contador looked like he was at ease, I think - not that he was finding it easy, but that he was satisfied with his current form.

contador indeed didn't look in trouble today. He didn't really try anything either though.

The team as a whole is subpar, Alberto included. That's exactly the most optimistic fact about Alberto's form.

Something in Saxo programme has been awful. That training camp at the end of February where was snow, wind freeze and cold preventing cycling every day seems the most logical answer.

on the other hand, the sky duo didn't impress me either
but all of them looked frozen to be honest. i liked spilak a lot, nice move by him

alberto still is at a very good level. i still believe in le tour he will be way stronger than now

Certainly cannot disagree, LOL I said it yesterday here.

Interesting theory. They did indeed spend most of the time on trainers....

which is not a good sign.

He probably was close to his limit, if not at his limit.

Exactly. Training at low altitude and indoors.

Yep that february training camp seems to have been a bad idea. Hopefully they will get on track for july so that Sky will get some actual competition.

Btw he is scheduled for Fleche Wallone

While the new recruits form has been subpar which has been a disapointment, in a race such as Pais Vasco in which the three big signings are all riding what exactly is their role? From what I saw yesterday all three got to the front and supported contador in the final km's before the field broke and Contador broke away with the leaders. I think they did a good job yesterday to be fair to them, Roche and Rogers were at the front setting pace and Kreuziger tried to follow the main group up the road and finished 20th on the stage. Today I was late tuning in and Contador was left on his own. Is it going to be their sole job to protect Contador or are they going to attack themselves.Personally I think Roche is probably best suited to going up the road in breakaways and should concentrate on developing a good kick in the finish. From what I remember in his first tour with AG2R he was 5th in the points class with consistant finished. Go back to that. Would Saxo be better served at the tour by going with the old reliables who helped Contador at the Vuelta last year??

That's the point. Roman, Roche and Rogers rol.

At least Roman should do an independent race from Contador

I still continue to think Contador is not pushing it mentally and physically yet and/or is playing the "dead fox" card... Don't underestimate him! Never!

If that's true, and he drops the Skyborg like it's no big deal at all in July, I'll truly be rolling on the floor:D:cool:

Contadors legs have if unspectacular been consistent. Lets be realistic about it are Porte, Quintana and Henao going to be a major threat to him come June/July?I dont think so as they will have other responsibilities and he would destroy Henao/Quintana in a tt anyway. We have a saying here 'there peaking when they should be vomiting' and thats what sky are doing at the moment. No one will care about these races if and when Contador wins the tour. Skys current form is blistering and they have a lot of cards to play but Contador is a proven winner and lets be realistic about it sky have yet to live with him in a grand tour. All the talk is Froome will talk the tour, I wouldnt be so sure yet. He couldnt beat Cobo in the Vuelta, blew last year and couldnt keep with Contador. Id discount his tour form last year. Schleck on top form in the mountains and Contador are still better possibilities even JROD who is going all out this year.

Maybe Contador do not want to show his numbers to the sky team... if he atack... skyborg scientistsborg can have an idea about his actual power and adjust their special training program..

In july we will see the real contador!!! Tormenta ahead! :D
