Thanks for the article.I think he is right,if he has good legs he doesnt have to worry anyone.but to be honest I dont think it will be the case in July.He will have to fight very hard.

btw.I was pretty surprised with this,so I hope it will be snowing at Tour:D

"El calor no es que me guste especialmente, lo llevo muy bien, aunque quizá me favorece más el frío, creo que me afecta menos que a otros corredores y marca un poco la diferencia a mí favor. Sí que me gustaría que hiciera un poco más de calor por el tema de la alergia que yo creo que va a ser un año brutal", añadió.

I was a little surprised by it too. He seems to do well in the heat; though I guess if we think about his pre-suspension late winter (think February-March), he would always do well and then stop racing when spring was in full bloom (April)

He ment the cold is worse for other riders (for example Froome, Valverde, Evans)
He did not beat Froome in the cold of Tirreno anyway.
He said he had a busy year, but it was the same program for Nibali, and Alberto was sick after Tirreno, so...

So he's saying he'd like to compete in the Vuelta if he can be good there. Looks like Sky aren't winning any GT this year:D

A thought came to mind after watching last year's Vuelta's mountainous stages again. Could Contador's multiple attacks have been his personal response to Brailsford's statements that we would no longer see multiple attacks by the gc contenders in the mountains (which I think was directly referencing the Contador and Rassmussen Tour battle in 2007)?

If there is one thing I love about Alberto Contador, it is his fight and feisty spirit:D

He seems the type that if you told him that he can't do something, it would just make him fight harder for it. Feeling like we will be treated to some vintage Contador soon. Can't wait!

Well maybe after seeing the boring tour 2012. But i think it was more about trying to drop purito ;)

That 2007 battle was epic though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WRqxW9Jyt8

So good :D

With this years european weather everything is possible:cool:

people say never snow in texas, well it did.:D

this year weather is a little unpredictable, who knows, maybe it won't snow, but the rain would be colder or something..

Contador is talking sh!t? :D

He only would do that if he can back it up (so i hope).

yup i notice that too. Contador doesn't usually smack talk (well even if it's soft smack :p). he always downs play his chances or his form. Maybe it's a good sign that he is back? *cross my finger + cross my thumb toe :D*

the interview really doesn't mean anything. we'll see in the dauphine where contador stands compared to froome

All I want to see is Contador wait until Froome attacks. If Contador doesn't get dropped, he'll be fine in July. If Froome can take time out of him when Froome attacks first, then July will be trouble for AC.

What we have seen is Alberto attacking, the Sky train puling him back and then Froome going and Alberto cannot respond.

If Contador wants to play mind games he should come out and say (though maybe closer to the tour) that wiggins has no chance of winning the race and that he only won in 2012 because froome was forced to work for wiggins.

You know that there's no chance he'll ever say that. The things he just said are the limit, he won't go further than that sadly enough :(

Alternatively he could say he thinks Wiggins is a huge threat and is far more worried about him than froome.

Less likely to work (since getting wiggins ****ed off is the easier option) but wiggins might then think- hang on if even contador says i can win this why the **** should i work for froome.

No, but I think it's clear that he greatly dislikes Sky, Froome and especially Wiggins.

I say the opposite. If he was happy with his form, chances of beating Froome, then he wouldn't be acting differently from what he normally says. We shall see...

Opviously u havent read a lot of Contador statements over the year. But that interview of course doesnt mean that hé is gonna beat Froome

Contador literally said: 'When my legs are okay, I fear neither Froome nor Wiggins'. Period. What promises are laid in this statements I don't know.

And no way that suggests that hé strongly dislikes them as another poster claims
