Talansky is talking absolute nonsense, he even goes so far as to contradict himself in that interview. Disrespecting guys like contador will make him a marked man and get him run off the road. If contador produces another verbier the time he'll gain will be over double what he gained on schleck in 2009, as the level of riders is decreasing, plus it'd make Team Sky look like a bunch of girls.
If froome is better physically than contador, then why haven't we seen a verbier or etna from him?? And saying he has the team is more nonsense because if he was good enough to do it, he would've instead of hiding behind porte et al. Sky would've employed a strategy that would've allowed froome to do that if he was able to. All guys like talansky are doing are trying to get on sky's side so that there is a possibility of an alliance.

I personally hope contador is riled up over all the sudden disrespect to him, and people underestimate contador to the point where they think froome will gain minutes on him each stage. It'll make him 100x more aggressive and dangerous.

Never mind whether or not Froome has a Verbier in him. Right now, does Contador? Contador is still trying to ride himself into Tour shape, and we won't if he's succeeded until perhaps a week into the Tour when the first mountain stage hits.

Also, I don't know if Froome could do something like Verbier or Etna; but if your going to use the reason he hasn't as proof he can't beat Contador, then it should be noted 1. he hasn't had the chance too (Vuelta was his first GT contending, worked for Wiggins in the Tour, and too tired at the Vuelta later) and 2. his teams tactics revolve around crushing the opposition with a train, not one single rider doing it by themselves.

Agree, I expect Froome will find himself having to do battle more often they he has had to do the past. Contador and others will be ready I think. And they know what they have to do to beat the Skytrain.

The Skytrain will no doubt be strong; hopefully Contador, Quintana, Purito, and others will be stronger.

If only Purito could attack more than 2 km from the finish ... then he could be a nice little springboard for AC

More difficult mountains this year, stronger competition, weaker Sky train. I think Froome will have to face alone the showdowns with the heavy guns. I think he'll loose in the mountains and his chance to win the Tour will rest on the ability to recover in the TT.

I don't know about that. Regardless of what you say, Sky and Froome couldn't handle the manic climbing in the Vuelta last year. If Purito, Valverde and Contador are on the same level + others then I'm not so sure. The downside to this that Contador hasn't looked at any point this year as good as he did in last years Vuelta.

I think that frenetic activity right from the start is the most likely way Froome will lose.
