THIS!
..is the future of contador's trusted lieutenant. :D:D Hope he can be a reliable mountain goat. So kreuziger can be free to lead GT or classic team and so does Nico.

watch out, farryman will call out you for baiting

my thoughts exactly

i'm not baiting anyone (even though i'm not sure of what baiting means :D. Pardon my english). Everyone is waiting to see contador's form this year. And he stated that this is his major objective. If he can't win against sky no.2 then, it would tough to compete against sky no.1. (with sore back or no sore back). So yes, secretly, I was hoping contador can bring Richie back to earth.. :D

Unless AC gets back to his 09 form, he will allways be fat ;):p

I know you're all joking, but seriously....was he lighter in 2009, then say, during the 2012 Vuelta?

I'd prefer to see them as co leaders(Kreuziger/Contador), and not co leaders "letting the road decide" but co leaders a cohesive plan from the start of the GT as to how one, it doesn't matter who, of them is going to win it.

His upper body is visibly a bit bigger than in say 07 to 10. But I don't really know what his match weight is now versus earlier years

I'm not getting carried away, I won't be surprised if he's dropped by Quintana, Porte, etc. Still, as a fan, I wish him the best and I will obviously be rooting for his win.

I don't think so. He was really skinny during the 2012 Vuelta, probably even too skinny since he got a little sick the last couple of days. 2012 must have been a very tough year for him, that costed him a lot. I hope it wasn't his last trick and he is able to push himself again like he used to.

one thing that we can all bet, Contador is a hard worker and very meticulous. He is no andy. So we certainly can hope that he'll be back in good form. Last year he got so many sponsor responsibility so he trained less. I hope that's really the reason for his form. Besides he finally got more than a year after his ban. Look at valverde, he is closing to his 2 years after his ban, and he is on fire already. If valverde can do it, so does contador especially with his work ethic. If we are talking about andy,.. then we can keep waiting until next year or the next year.. or maybe don't know when..:D

Uahhhhh... I hope NOT though. This month of march and april are an important months for Tinkoff boys (see interview with Bjarne on Tinkoff web). They want more win. + this is Alberto first major objective. No more just podium, he got that already last year. He needs to bring the gold home... and of course some fire works a long the way won't hurt :D

IMHO. Berto is looking leaner. I think he will be looking to do some damage on the longer climb. I also think Quintana will look to light it up there as well. He will need the time there too. So an alliance could be made.
If Quintana plans on winning the GIRO he should give Porte/Evans/Uran a little smackdown before.

Contador will probably be even with Quintana after both time trials(the itt will give Contador time he lost on the tt), which means, if he wants to win, he will need to take time out of Quintana in the mountains. He should just depend on his team. They have a very good team for the mountains.

Well.. look at bentacur. He was fatty fat fat like a michelin man in Argentina. (I was surprise to see his pic, it's kinda a resemblance of noval). But then second race, he won the overall with his chubby weight.

Wait, Quintana is a better time trialist than Contador???

If Alberto is even remotely close to his best years, and I have a strong hunch that this is so, then no freekin way.

Jspear thinks Alberto could lose time on the TTT to Quintana which might be true. We'll see how Saxo fares later this day :)

Tinkov won't have much time to make up if any. Tour last year...6 seconds to Sky in a longer TT. And relatively I'd say Sky is the same maybe a little softer, Wiggins marginally stronger than Froome, Nieve however is no Kiryienka. Where as Rogers and Noval, for Boaro and Morkov I think is a step up.
