Alberto is talking about his sensations:
Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo Bank): “Tirreno-Adriatico is an important goal. Lots of riders are here to prepare for the Giro,I want the final result. I’ve had a good winter, my sensations are perhaps the best I’ve ever had at the start of a season, and I’ve come here to get a good result.”

Let's not be too hopeful, he was so-called at his old GT shape in the tour of 2013 and we all know what happened there...

He can talk the talk, let's see if he can walk the walk.

I only passed along the man's words. You are absolutely right that it is not a cause to get excited for the reasons you stated. We'll see soon enough.

Tinkoff boys rode good today considering they were so disorganized in the first km. I thought the composition of this team has more TT power on the paper. Moviestar was surprising. Imagining Quintana who's not a good a flat ITT, hanging dearly on the moviestar express train? But they manage to finish 3rd. He is probably the most happy camper. He knows he can beat kwiat and uran.

contador once again.. starts from behind when the race starts with TTT or ITT. He has said about his "S" word. So this weekend we shall see.. if the "S" turns out to be "B" (= bluff) :D

No way! Alberto said he felt SO good today during the TTT that he wanted to leave his teammates behind and continue by himself towards the finish line  :D

j/k :p

He just said he had good sensations, especially considering the course for the TTT was a flat one. Although, disappointed to had conceded a lot of time to OPQS considering how strong Kwiatkowski is right now.

Read it here if you want

yeah.. but he is a little concern to concede so much time to kwiat. So I guess he knows, he barely dislodged kwiat at malhao. He lost time at ITT to kwiat and he can't make it up in the mountain at algarve. And with kwiat coming off the win at strade bianchi, he is definitely in an excellent form. Contador only have 4 days racing leg, hopefully his training get him up there to fight the loss time. Makes me nervous now. Please no dejavu..

I really don't think Kwiat is the test here for Bertie...

Really?
Saw a mention that Contador had to almost sprint the last km to keep up in the TTT, haven't seen the stage fully yet, is this true?

Bodes not great if so...

Just my opinion on that, but not seen any coverage either, but if you dip into the T-A thread it seems Porte was also struggling. I guess Saturday will unfold a little bit of where everyone is. Get the beers in:)

Looking at the replay video, you are right. His team mate were looking at the back all the time, apparently Alberto having a hard time keeping up. He finished the last man.

see it for yourself (18:35 - 19:22) He got a helmet with red stripe in front of it.

Kwiat is in excellent form. Maybe it's not a test for Bertie, but certainly one of his main threats. If he can't dispatch Kwiat, he can forget about Quintana and Uran.

I think there was something to that---he was going full out and still was the last one across the line for Tinkoff.

Edit: I wonder if they slowed down so as not to drop him. Looking at it, that might have been the case

Nobody knows how much of the work Berto did alone, as we all know he takes a lot of responsibility and takes the front more than he should do, but that´s just how he is, maybe he miscalculated the effort and worked too hard and therefor had a hard time at the end, wouldnt be a surprise at all.

I don't see where he was struggling  it looks like he kept contact but yes he had to sprint to keep up

The team went full gas to the finish line and who knows, perhaps Contador had just done a turn or something like that. I don't see anything terrible.

This is exactly my opinion.Too much effort during the stage.I think its not possible to Alberto be worse than half of the team in TTT.

@olegtinkov: Disappointed to be 4th on TTT for @tinkoff_saxo , but seeing from the car, how @albertocontador was pulling, I'm confident in his GC result.

Lol,disappointed:eek:?He really thinks he can beat orica and opqs in ttt.

Unfortunately the message about Berto has no value as no cycling expert cant see that (he is no expert ofc)
Still hope he is right tho:D

I see a Tinkov-Contador break coming soon if Velasco fails to win. It's 2013 all over again.

I think he is disappointed about the relative big time-loss to OPQS

Hard to say,he said he was disapointed by the 4th place. So I think its the placing ...anyway he has unrealistic goals.

He's putting pressure on Contador to perform. That's all it is.
