Why couldn't he recover 30 seconds between Saturday and Sunday?

He'll need a lot more than 30" to have a cushion to offset Kwiatkowski's expected gains on the final ITT. Not impossible, but it's going to take him, along with other climbers, putting Kwiatkowski into a deep hole.

I see it's 36 sec. Am I wrong?

no you are right. He lost 36 seconds from Kwiat. So 1&2 are Quickstep. Then Alberto, Quintana, Porte, evans, horner.. they are all lost too.

UFFFFHHHH.. this weekend should be a carnage if one of those contenders want to win it. Otherwise, it's in the bag for Kwiat. They need to put him in a deep deep trouble.

Alberto will go for the win
Sport Director Philippe Mauduit says:

- He is good. He is looking really sharp and focused. So it’s pretty simple – tomorrow we will go for the stage win. We have a very strong team with riders like Roche and Kreuziger ready to put the peloton under severe pressure, and then Alberto has to finish it on the final part of the climb.

So it´s going to be all or nothing I guess.

Well, AC looked very slim those few seconds I saw of him today. Think he is somewhat back top his old self.

Fingers crossed ;)

tomorrow could end up with sky dragging everyone to the 1 km banner. But I expect him to try something on lanciano at least.

Its gonna be lame if he does nothing and ends up with 3rd on GC or whatever.

It all depends on how the penultimate mountain is climbed. Porte needs as much time as anyone, but Quintana needs more and he has the problem of the last ITT. So I'm kinding of hoping that Quintana and Horner kick the fireworks off early and whittle the field down to the generals on the final climb.

It seems to me or is it that tomorrow's stage has become somewhat important in the turbulent yet glorious career of Alberto Contador Velasco? What happens if... ?

It's only important if Contador wants to win Tirreno. And he has said himself that he would like to. Last year he was always "there" in the races he raced, but he never quite won. He has said himself that he wants more victories this year. Tomorrow would be a nice place to start.

everyone in the team is expecting Alberto to lit up the fireworks. Riis said it, Maduit said, and Alberto is ready.

Ladies and gentleman... buckle up!

I am so nervous too :D I can't watch the final climb, perhaps that's a good thing :p the first real test
