So it means that AC had full control over his own training until now, and nobody interfered with that.
I would say that is some gamble with a salary of his size.
Doesnt matter how professional AC is or how hard he trains, but that is wrong.
Hopefully they finally got some structure and guidance to his training so we can see an even better AC than ever.
We know the huge talent have always been there, now lets see what he can do with some proper and scientifically training.

He never really needed it before. He destroyed everyone in 2009 using his own training methods. I agree with you though that this is a good development.

He got trained by Pepe Marti back then.

basically de jongh just copy/pasted the El Teide training from Sky to Contador.

LOL

I'm also curious what Sean Yates might have to do with all of this. I noticed he mentioned AC a couple of times in recent months on twitter and he definitely is in contact with Steven De Jongh, who called Yates 'master' and 'chief' after AC's victories. It wouldn't surprise me if he is involved in the back ground (he started his private training company after he 'parted ways' with Sky, and directly or indirectly helping AC a bit winning the Tour might be a hell of a revenge).

How far behind Nairo did he finish?

He was 6 secs slower at the intermediate and at the start it looked like there was something wrong with his skinsuit looking at the way he was moving his legs.

Don't really know how hard Contador pushed himself, but if he did decide to take it a bit easier and didn't go full out then it would make sense.

With Contador having a 2 minute gap to everyone he would have less motivation to really push himself for a high stage placing then Quintana. Who I expect pushed it hard both for Giro training and to ensure he kept his 2nd place on the podium.

Bad news then, but let's wait for the interview, maybe something happened.

Ya, It will be interesting to see if he has a reason. From the outside I thought that was a kinda sad performance. Maybe he'll improve by July.

Nice win for Contador. T-A is on his palmares as well now.

He allready has a lot better year than last year. Good for his confidence.
Really hope he will be able to give Froome a fight this year at the TdF.

Video Steven De Jongh about the new training methods from Alberto Contador and the secrets of Team Sky.

Does anyone know what De Jongh is talking about? I know nothing about Duth:confused:

more structure, more intensity, more rest period, not overtrain, avoid fatigue, controlling his trainings and in fonction of july : losing weight, training on steep climbs (intervals)....

SDJ says AC still has the possibility to gain some % for July....

So Contador was 6 seconds slower than Quintana on the first part and 3 seconds faster on the second part.

Considering Contador seemed to be trying to adjust his skinsuit at the start, maybe that is related to the time loss.
