I hate to be a party pooper as I too was besides myself with joy these past few days, but how are we on the allergies front? Can anyone say anything remotely worthwhile at this point? Any indication on how the soft winter is going to affect the pollen season?

You can forget the allergies this year !

I think contador will give it a go tomorrow, even though blue jersey seems to be safer. He doesn't have any more ITT stage for the next of his two races (Catalunya and Paisco) to test his ITT position. He has been working in wind tunnel with Specialized early this year, and the TA ITT got a great field to test where he actually stands with his ITT. (Cancelara, Wiggins, Martin, Malori etc.).

(contador's part is sandwiched in the middle)

Pais Vasco has an itt, an hilly one as usual.

I haven't been paying attention to how the winter has been in Europe but here in the states it's been horrendous. There was an article today that mentioned that the allergy season here can be expected to be pretty bad, worse the normal.

I thought the states had been locked down in a freezer all winter, how can they expect it to be worse than normal?

Even if 2 stages of TA won't guarantee the TDF win, but he certainly on the right track to build a good form. The changes he made seems to bear fruit now.

Also sounded like, he's concentrated more with the mountain. Is he planning to take down Froome mostly in the mountain or something? *if that's the case. AWESOME:D*

Prior to tomorrow’s time trial, Contador said he intends to give everything.
“Yes, I'm a rider who always likes to give the maximum. This year I will not do a lot of time trials, but there will be an important one in the Tour de France, and any test you do to continue improving is important.”

What he means is that there aren't many time trials in the races before the Tour. That's why he says he wants to test himself.

It can be worse, coz of soft winter, thats possible. But,like Ryo said,it depends on what pollens you cant handle.I dont know which pollens Alberto cant handle.
As for me,last year, I had a good year in terms of pollen.e.g.;)

Video Steven De Jongh about the new training methods from Alberto Contador and the secrets of Team Sky.
http://www.telegraaf.nl/tv/telesport/wielersport/22396771/__De_Jongh_coacht_Contador__.html

Does anyone know what De Jongh is talking about? I know nothing about Duth:confused:

Basically he says he made Alberto's training much more structured as before he would just train on instinct and feeling leading to him not training as intense as he should be, and adding some of the Sky training method to Alberto's training.

He says that Contador's training has been more structured this winter. He used to train mainly on feel, doing too much but with too little intensity. De Jongh added more intensity and more rest. He also says that while not making his training a carbon copy of the Sky method, he can't deny that he picked up a few things over there. But for instance Contador has a particular kind of interval training that he uses, and Team Sky don't.

So it means that AC had full control over his own training until now, and nobody interfered with that.
I would say that is some gamble with a salary of his size.
Doesnt matter how professional AC is or how hard he trains, but that is wrong.
Hopefully they finally got some structure and guidance to his training so we can see an even better AC than ever.
We know the huge talent have always been there, now lets see what he can do with some proper and scientifically training.

He never really needed it before. He destroyed everyone in 2009 using his own training methods. I agree with you though that this is a good development.
