ILovecycling said:Ok brief summary
Firstly,he talked about his injury, how it happened, who was with him,who did what etc, nothing really new to us,except...He said the worst moment was when he rode in his brother car,and then waited the stage to finish, then went on x-rays...
Then he talked about his tibia and knee,he said he has 2 deep wounds and he cant move with his leg.And briefly mentioned that it was swollen.
In the end of coverage he answered question of Perico and fans.He declared he is pleased with fans support etc ,then he once more assured us he had great legs (precisely he said 'superbien') ,everything was going right, team was excellent etc
After that he talked about future. He again said that it has to be 3 weeks before first cycling activity, but he would like to train immediately if it was possible. He hopes these wounds won't open and then it should be OK
He would so like to ride Vuelta, but he will have only 2 weeks to train. But he said his aim is to arrive to la Vuelta 'en nivel medio' (that means he doesnt target top form, cuz its impossible) but it will be very hard to achieve this medium level.
Then he really talked about his changed training and sacrifices this winter, and how it was different.Food, trainers,he didnt go to any party of sponsors nor friends. He is really satisfied with Lugano, and his training with friends makes him happy.
Then there was a question, what race he hasnt got in palmares, would he like to win? He said Worlds, but then said its very tough cuz it rarely suits his characteristics.
In the end he said,he is looking forward to training soon, and next year wants to be in same shape, but he hopes even better. He said these are tough moments mentally, but friends, team and fans help him a lot.
But as for me he looked sharp, and super-super-motivated,and he probably put this Tour behind,he is not devasted anymore.
This man is just so STRONG.
VAMOS!

Miburo said:It sounds stupid i know but i really believe that if froome wasn't riding the vuelta contador had a chance of winning it. But with froome you need to be 100%, i doubt quintana is gonna be at his giro level.
It's hard to peak twice, look at nibali last year.
Vino attacks everyone said:Nibali last year were barely training from the end of giro until mid/late July though. with Astana sending him around to sponsors for months. Don't know what Quintana has been up to, but doubt he's had a worse buildup than Nibali last year
